The first time I saw Sufjan Stevens on...I think it was Austin City Limits...I was truly blown away. I'd never heard anything like him. And to think this genius came out of Petosky. This isn't the song I first heard (can't remember what song it was) but I picked it because he's wearing the wings! I distinctly remember the wings! Still....amazing song. It's called "For The Widows of Paradise, For The Fatherless In Ypsilanti" and it was on Greetings From Michigan - the first of his planned 50 state-based records (only Michigan and Illinois so far....but so much great music already).
