Articles: STIT is (ace924)
| Most recent article: STIT is by: ace924 2006-12-11 21:54:23 STIT was originally formed in 1989. They had a pending deal with CBS that unfortunatly fell through. They played the Bar Scene till 1991 and eventually called it quits. In the spring of 2006, STIT was discovered by RETROSPECT RECORDS out of Las Vegas off a local website thanks to a good friend Dave Hess. RETROSPECT wanted to release a 1990 recording. But instead they decided to reform and record some never performed or recorded songs they had written. With that they have produced, STIT, "BACKWARDS". Click "read more" below. read more... |

| Most recent article: Congrats to all the 2008 DMA winners by: 2009-04-28 20:16:22 Hey y'all. Just got out of my final (aced it) and won't have to go back to school until the fall. I just wanted to drop by to say congratulations to all of this year's winners of the 2008 Detroit Music Awards. I didn't get a chance to attend myself (missed The Nuge dammitalltohell), but I wanted to give special congrats to some of my long time faves such as Ty Stone (outstanding rock/pop artist or group et al), Nadir (Outstanding Urban / Funk Vocalist et al), Billy Brandt (Outstanding Folk Artist / Group et al), Dave Feeny (Outstanding Country Instrumentalist), Rachel May (who should get an award for most consecutive awards - who does hold that record?), DJ Linda Lexy (Outstanding Electronic/Dance DJ), Liz Larin (Outstanding Electronic / Dance Writer Producer), Vinnie Dombrowski & Crud (Outstanding Rock/Pop vocalist, Rock/Pop Songwriter, Industrial Artist) and Luke Sayers (Outstanding Acoustic / Folk Recording) and to The Hard Lessons (Outstanding Live Performance). To all those above and all the other DMA winners, sincere congrats to you all.
See ya 'round,

| Most recent article: John Ludi Gets Praise from Pluto by: PlutoRadio 2010-09-18 08:31:03 John Ludi allows us to use his material on our eclectic musician minded radio stream... Pluto Radio is a rock, blues, trip-hop, alternative country cross over, electric cowboy hippie thing, plutoradio.com.
Feedback from our listeners indicate John Ludi's music is lyrical, intelligent, insightful as well as melodic. Between the Quiet Earth Orchestra and music that he has produced under his own name, and/or The Soft war, Mr. Ludi's music has helped us build an interesting international fan base with a true appreciation for the many cross-over musical styles which are commonly associated with rock and roll. I've been quoted as saying John Ludi has Bowie's voice - only better. His voice, along with the musical insight of any memorable early 70's progressive rocker, gives Mr. Ludi's music (and words) a understated ying/yang eloquence which tends to reveal the fragility of the human heart along with the hidden character of our souls.
Pluto Radio is an advocate of the unsung musician, therefore, we suggest that anyone who enjoys progressive, lyrical vibe look John up and give his sound a listen… John Ludi at johnludi.com Good to see Mr. Ludi on this website, Michigan Bands freakin' rock!
My best from the great American desert.

| Most recent article: Five Bands Rock the Michigan Theater, January 22 by: chcnetwork 2011-03-05 11:33:20

With a wind chill factor registering almost 20 below it may have been one of the coldest nights in six years for the Jackson, Michigan area, but for the residents of south-central Michigan, particularly those who like hard and driving rock, the five bands that provided talent at the Michigan Theater tonight raised temps as they really cooked on stage.
This bill featuring Michigan bands Neon Escape, Lifeline Revolution, Under The Vine, Fifth Way, and the headlining Pop Evil was organized by Tim Corser, head of Kings of Rock Entertainment.
Corser, 28, has been promoting rock bands in and around the Jackson area for the past eight years. Last year during the depths of Michigan's deepest recession, at a time when even the biggest promoters were taking a hit, he promoted 30 bands on three stages at what was called Rockapalooza.
He is all too aware that roller coaster effect that the music business has experienced over the past couple of years and speaks with an authority on this matter perhaps belying his age. Despite this, he is intrepid rock devotee and is determined to produce the best shows for the dollar, something much needed and surely appreciated in the Jackson area.

| Most recent article: This is definately different for Eddie Leighton by: hyflash 2009-05-09 23:36:24 Well, with everyone losing their jobs in Detroit, I thought I would experiment on a tune about being unemployed I call this song, "I'm Broke up". I started out the song using a electronic drum synth, and building it up from there. When I finished recording all of the tracks, I sat back and listened to it, to feel the vibe of what it brings to me. I started thinking it sounded like a Kid Rock song, or something in that area. I have never wrote a song like this one before. It is a kind of, Rock Rap song. it definately has a funky groove to it, with a powerful message on how, and why, we are in the economical mess we are in today.
