Lately I've been going to the message board for Black Sabbaths guitar player, Tony Iommi. It can be found as part of his site at http://www.iommi.com You have to join the board in order to view it and it is very well modded.

Whenever I've had gear questions or if I needed tips on almost anything that I'm trying to do in my current band, the board members over there have really stood out and helped me beyond what I thought was possible. Our band would not be what it was if it weren't for some of the people that post there.

Check it out if you get a chance. It’s also a bit of a social hang out. There are some good people that post from around the world. Fun!

Sounds cool. It would be nice to have some of those people stop over here once in a while too. Can you spread the word over there about us?

Any one of us could from over here. But what would a Michigan message board have to offer a guitar player from Australia or England. Or Yugoslavia? How about Istanbul?

They've helped me with gear related questions. What did Tony use to make certain sounds? What resource can I use to learn song X..... Real specific things. I thought I would share that here. Returning the favor seems to serve no real purpose.

I seldom actually go to a board for the pure social value of it any more. Trying to explain to anybody that "Hey, go over here and be our friend", seems kind of funny. "Visit this site for you Michigan music resource needs!"

Sorry. I read this and it seems rather cold but it’s just how I feel. It is kind of chilly outside and I’m real cranky and tired.

No Problem.

Actually most of the traffic to this site comes from places other than Michigan and from many other countries too. A percentage are hacker bots sniffing around, but most are legit. This has been true since the site launched. I find it weird myself. Very few participate. But there has always been a lot of interest in the Michigan music scene. Maybe it goes back to the 60's bands that come out of here or Motown. The state certainly has a legacy.

Maybe global warming will kick in and it will be in the 70's tomorrow.

Check this out. It is one of the Italian search engines that spiders the site. We used to be big in China too before I blocked half of the asian coast for hacker attacks. Smile

I bet you can pick up quite a few new fans of your band hanging out there too.

Not really. What we're doing is rather typical for people that hang out there. There are loads of Sabbath Tribute projects around the world.
