Hey,

If you know of any Michigan bands who have their own Christmas songs or cover versions of popular Christmas songs, post the links here.

I'll start:

Robb Roy's version of Happy Christmas (Dearborn)
http://www.grahamvox.com/holiday.html

"All I Want For Christmas" by Our Film Star - (Detroit)
http://www.myspace.com/ourfilmstar

Holy Knight Christmas CD by Arlen (Livonia)
http://www.myspace.com/arlenrocks

Interesting fact: I went through all of our listed Christian artists and I found no obvious Christmas music. Or is Christian music automatically considered Christmas music? Or has Christmas music become primarily the domain of secular artists? What constitutes a Christmas song? Does it have to mention the virgin birth or only the holiday? Feel free to chime in any time people.

Just wanted to note that Arlen is a Christian and the music on his CD is mostly Christian standard Christmas music. Almost all of it is in public domain now. The secular music such as Rudolph etc is probably still covered by copywrite even though it may be 50 years old or more.

Note also the Arlen was the lead singer for Salem Witchcraft. I think most will agree that he still has a very strong set of pipes. I bought the CD last year. Most of the proceeds from the CD sales goes to charity.

Given that the Christmas standards like O' Come All Ye Faithful are in public domain I wouldn't see why any Christian band shouldn't fill up a CD with the stuff and add a couple of originals. I actually have a version of that particular song done by Twisted Sister done in the same groove as "We're Not Gonna Take It".
