I'm a fan of Led Zeppelin! I think that he's a great artist. I love his albums. Anyone know what's new with him? Let me know what you know

At least he posted something.

And since he brought it up, XM's got a new station (59) that's devoted entirely to Led Zeppelin. Pretty cool. Love to hear the interviews.

Zeppelin's the whole reason I ever picked up a guitar in the first place - picking out "The Ocean" on my friend's acoustic guitar got me hooked.

Led Zeppelin is one of the base archetypes of the entire rock genre, no doubt.

What kinda irks me is the treatment LZ got from those radio stations of that "Classic Rock" format (you know, those radio stations that play the same 500 "album rock" baby-boom era songs over and over again...). LZ got SO overplayed (or at least 8 or 10 of their songs did, anyway), that it became something of, shall we say, less than a treat... Nothing can zap the "cool" out of a song more than playing the crap out of it over the radio for 30 years straight...

To really appreciate the innovativeness of LZ, I think you really have to play the old albums in their entirety. If you look beyond those tired old 10 or so songs they have, it's those more obscure nuggets that really show the depth of this amazing thing going on with this band.

I agree Gene ... some ofthe best Zep tunes never made the radio. You have to pop in the CDs and listen to the whole album to appreciate their greatness.
