Just seen this article on the New York Times online about indie bands sharing more future revenues that exploit their "brand" (merchandising, etc...) to get better tour and career support from the labels up front. Overall, the labels would put up more out front for much more off the back end.

Well I guess the labels have to do what they have to do to make money. I mean if Cds aren't selling much anymore because of the digital download generation what can they do?
And as far as the bands go ... if you're hungry, you're hungry. They'll still make money either way I suppose.
I mean if a major label wants to sign you ...you are doing something right.
