Was driving through a neighborhood and saw a yard sale. I saw some computer speakers setting on a table and this amp setting in the yard.

I asked the woman how much she wanted for the speakers and she said 5 bucks, then I asked about the amp and she said 5 bucks! I asked her if it worked and she said it was her husband's and he just said sell it.

By the way, it does work. Sounds very clean ( not for metal obviously ). I'd guess it to be about 50 Watts. It is a 2-12 solid state about the same size as a Fender Twin. It's a Hohner H1250, that's as much as I know about it.

Just had to share this with some of my friends.

Must be a real rarity - can't find anything on the net. Not even Hohner fesses up to that one!

Surprised

Good time to be checking garage sales. I just picked up another item. Not as cool as the amp deal, but I'm happy. I got a Washburn BT2 for 75 bucks from a guy down the street. He got it to learn on and moved over to an accoustic. He decided to let this go. I made the offer and he probably would have taken 50 bucks but they go for about $300 and I couldn't see going that low. I wanted a humbucker to go with my strat anyway and this has a wide neck like my strat so it's a good second guitar for me for the price. Not a mark on it. Looks like it just came out of the store.

A lot of part timers are selling their extra gear right now for extra cash. I would highly recommend dropping by some sales if you are driving by. You never know what you will find.

Here is a pic from another site.

Now THAT looks like a good score! Looks very utilitarian, and a comfortable play. If there wasn't anything obviously wrong with it, I would have paid $75 for it, easy!

It needs some adjustment, strings are too high, but other than that it plays and sounds great.

It is a really short body guitar which makes it look like a kids insturment. It is also really light so I didn't expect much in the way of sustain, but I was surprised when I hooked it up. It does pretty good. Must be the nut and the bridge. The balance is dead nuts on though. It just hangs there.

Condition is just like the picture. Not a scratch.

By the way, my wife is still bitchin me out for not offering the guy less. The guitar retails for about $300 to $350. I think I got a good deal and I can sleep at night.
