Michigan Bands Music and Entertainers FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Category: Main -> What's wrong with Radio these days?
| Answer | | · What's the deal with radio these days? One huge communications company bought dozens of radio stations with the same target demographic, fired all the redundant DJ's, production assistant and program directors, dictated the playlists based on which so-called "independent promoters" bought them the best toys and travel junkets for their stations, gave themselves a big fat raise and a golden parachute and nobody lived happily ever after.
Nobody, that is, except the mindless majority who can stomach such quotidian, banal, offensive, advertising-soaked tripe that passes for commercial radio these days. Apparently, there's still enough of those people to do really good business. It's a sad, sad world.
For the rest of us (the small minority, I'm afraid) there's the joy of finding quality music locally. It's an activity rather than a passiivity. It's an adventure, a treasure hunt, something fun to do, something to share wiith our friends. It's a choice you had to make, a stand you had to take.
Tune out, turn off and dig in to local music. The joy of discovery awaits you.
