Influences
Everyone we have ever had the good fortune to make music with. All the GREAT Detroit bands that we have heard, met and jammed with. The Legendary, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee and original Sun Records Recording Artist, Mr. Jack Earls. Chess,Motown and Stax hit makers. Our families and friends. And finally, anyone who ever had the stones to pick up an instrument and take a stage with it!
Lenny Earls - Lead Vocals/Guitarist.
Lenny is a second generation performing/recording artist. Lenny's father Jack Earls is an original Sun Records recording artist and a Rock-a-Billy pioneer, having penned such classics as "Slow Down" and "Hey Jim". Lenny has an encyclopedic musical memory and draws from many influences to create his unique sound.
Greg Varney - Drums / Vocals
Greg lists his influences as the great drummers of the 70's. John Bonham, Ginger Baker, Steve Gadd, Carmine Appice and Carl Palmer among them. He has been honing his craft live for over 20 years, performing in many local and regional bands during that time. Earls and Varney together in the majority of those projects, have a musical relationship that dates back almost 17 years.
Greg Boudreau - Bass / Vocals
Greg has been performing on stages locally since the seventies. He is truly a journeyman in every sense of the word. Playing many different styles seamlessly has always been his calling card. Greg's style has been likened to bass greats such as, Jack Bruce, John Paul Jones, John Entwhistle, Oteil Burbridge and James Jamerson.
Dan Jenkins - Piano / Keyboards / Vocals
Dan is a true fan of music with a very diverse array of influences. He is Union Avenue's resident jam band super fan. It's easy to hear how some of the genres seminal acts such as The Grateful Dead, Phish, MMW, Allman Brothers Band and Widespread Panic have infused his playing. Dan brings an open, airy and very rootsy feel to our sound.
Rob Renirie - Guitar / Vocals
As the latest addition to the band, Rob has set the bar of performance and professionalism higher for the rest of us. A veteran performer and instructor, he has added a new dimension to the sound of the band that has really brought us to a new plateau. As Lenny often points out while introducing Rob live, " He's not only the best guitarist that I've ever played with, Rob is the most humble"
I was wondering if I could ask you for a favor? (I ask this of ALL my "new friends") Wanda Jackson is one of 9 nominees up for induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame .
I am trying to help WANDA be one of the 5 to be inducted in 2009! All you have to do is write the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It just takes is a few moments to write them send a post card or a greeting card (whatever) that simply says… INDUCT WANDA JACKSON—2009! (the message will be heard loud and clear) Remember the movie "Miracle On 34th Street"? Well, it's the same concept. PLEASE help Wanda be where she should be, The 1st lady to sing Rock and Roll should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum !

Thanks for joining (or not joining... it really makes no different) our label! We will do our best to speak well of you if we hear you in passing. Like, if someone says, "Yeah, what do you know about Union Avenue?" we'll be all like "Those guys are totally bad ass. Go to one of their shows." -FYR
