Click the Rad little logo link below for our Pure Volume site BIO:Love and Violence formed in a small ass town in the sticks, in the summer of 2001, when long time friends Ryan Reynolds (vocals/guitar) and Jason Rose (bass), teamed up with Jeff Waldie (guitar) and Chris Beaubien (drums). As a four piece, they played mostly melodic metal, with a touch of progression to each song. As the summer winded to a close, the band eventually hit the studio to record their very first demo, comprised of 3 songs. They were fortunate enough to have 2 of the songs played on the local radio station, which in turn got a decent demand for the free handout at the small towns local music store, and created a little buzz in town. After their very first gig at a big Halloween party, they competed in a battle of the Bands in Petoskey and took first place in the first round. The following week Gerald Stienberg was added to the band as a second guitar player, so Ryan could focus solely on vocals. Then the following week Jason left for personal reasons, and Rob Brimacombe replaced him on bass. LNV ended up taking second place at the Battle of The Bands, which was the first show with new and current lineup. They then hit the studio again to record their only full-length album, which was completed by the end of 2001. By then the band was heading a bit more into a heavier direction, while still focusing melodies and harmonies. The beginning of 2002 took a big turn for LNV, when Ryan left the band to form Aieden, while the remaining members of LNV continued on under the title Undecided. After a few months of jamming together, lack of gigs, time, and devotion, ultimately ended the life of both bands. The 11 track full-length album never saw a the public light of day.
Then in late summer of 2002, Love and Violence reformed with same lineup except with Nick Miftaraj temporarily handling bass duties, but not much. After a few weeks of jamming and writing new material, Rob rejoined LNV to complete the once original lineup. Playing more gigs as before and once again taking second place at the same Battle of the Bands, only a year later, LNV is growing stronger and heading for the future. The start of 2003 brought a new ep, recorded at our own studio, and features new songs, with one old song redone. In the spring of 2003, LNV let go of one of their founding members and guitar player Jeff, to help in their direction forward. Their sound was really started to develop in what they want to be known as playing. Heavy riffs, mixed in with pleasant melodies, driving choruss, with a progressive backbone, harmonizing vocals with a slight complex riffing.
Late summer 2003, LNV hit their own studio to start recording some newly written tracks, "Genesis" and "It Doesn't Matter" And they even started to record some older but newly remade tracks "Breathe". A few more gigs, and a victory at a local Battle, things were definatly looking up. What seemed to be a step foreward, the band moved to a better location with more venues, and more opportunity, Traverse City, MI. This ended up being almost the last leg of this growing, and maturing band. The band last practiced early 04'. A bunch of half written new tracks, and a few unmixed/unmastered tracks for the new demo was all that was left behind, for over two years
Ryan, Gerald, and Rob remained close, but focused on career opportunites instead of jamming. In early 2006, they got together again for one last shot, but with new blood behind the drums. A fresh start, couple new songs, the band once again hit "life" obsticals that couldn't be avoided. The music shall always be in their hearts, and on here for you to hear.
