The Dirty River Jazz Band Description: Formed in the Spring of 2005, The Dirty River Jazz Band is a band where the whole is much greater than the sum of the parts. Concerts are highly improvisatory as the band will play until they are done. They will weave and segue songs and grooves into one another to create a seamless sonic fabric. Though the musicians are well adept in traditional jazz (with a focus on "non-standard" standards), the possibilities don't end there. With jazz being the main ingredient, it is not uncommon to get a taste of rock, funk, latin/bossa-nova, and the avant-garde. As of late, performances have become more and more progressive, with the sets being completely improvised. Each member brings something truly unique to the table and their passion and joy of music is present in their performances. Added on: 03-Aug-2004 Hits: 435 Rate this Site | Report Broken Link
