The Hungry Ghost Description: The songs of The Hungry Ghost peek into the mystery of everyday existence and evoke bizarre, unfathomable situations that seem strangely familiar. Music critics have compared him to other artists known for a sense of brooding and darker edge ("imagine Lou Reed produced by Tricky", says one reviewer).
On his new CD, a bizarre blend of goth/darkwave, folk, trip-hop, and traditional eastern instruments, the ghost (aka singer-songwriter Blake Chen) pays homage to horror/sci-fi/fantasy movies and comic books. The Holy Fire Description: Formed in early 2004, the Holy Fire played their first show opening for TV on the Radio and haven't stopped since. They use a jangling, spacey, twin guitar attack over Bohnam-by-way-of-Jimmy Chamberlain drumming and walk a line between balls out post-rock and singer/songwriter, lyricism. One of those bands that take small pieces of much of the past three decades' great music, get high on it, and come up with something entirely unique.
In 2004 they began recording a full length album with Michael Ivins of the Flaming Lips. Major and indie interest abound, they remain unsigned and mildly neurotic.

We have been rock and roll workhorses; playing gigs four or five nights a week all over Michigan and surrounding areas, in both original and cover preformances. The band has greatly matured since it's conception almost six years ago and has gelled into a cohesive unit. We strongly believe in the concept of kaizen or constant improvement. We believe in our vision. We have traveled across the U.S. and played hundreds of gigs for thousands of people. We are dedicated. We are talented. We rock.
