Ground Score Description: Ground Score is only one of a few Rock/Fusion Jam Band's known to exist in the Detroit area. Their sound is an intense improvisational rock that calls to mind the creativity of Particle, Moe., Phish and Pink Floyd without falling under the sometimes limiting "jam band" umbrella.

The Brothers Groove Description: Detroit’s funkiest foursome, The Brothers Groove, are famous for their frenzy-inducing live gigs and an instrumental interplay that borders on the telepathic. Formed in 1999 by vocalist/keyboard player Chris Codish and Bassist James Simonson, The Brothers Groove have expanded from a jazz trio to a full force powerhouse jam quartet with Erik Gustafson on guitar and Skeeto Valdez on drums. Along the way they have released three CDs. The critically acclaimed "Clamp it Down," the live CD "Layin’ in The Cut," and their latest, "So Glad You Came." Fans and peers have been spreading the word about this DYNAMITE band that has been honored with over 17 Detroit Music Awards. So what do The Brothers Groove sound like? How about a soul food stew of 21st Century Detroit funk, hipster jazz, and stoner rock, seasoned by the ups and downs of living in one of the most fertile music cities in the world. Oakland Press and AP writer Gary Graff describes the group as "virtuoso funk/rock/jazz alchemists." The only way to really find out is to see them live and experience their unique musical chemistry. Gypsy Cab Co Description: We jam but we don't just jam. The Gypsy Cab Co. formed in Sept. of '02 and has been playing all over the Kalamazoo circuit. This is a band that does not jam in the "traditional" sense of jamming. The music is heavier than most jam bands, but not real heavy. Rock, jazz, and blues roots highlight the music, but the band is not classified as any of the previously mentioned genres. After playing at just about every single venue in Kalamazoo (Club Soda, Kraftbrau, Boomerangs, Reid Fieldhouse, etc.), the Gypsy Cab Co. is starting to play other cities such as Grand Rapids and Lansing in an attempt to expand their performance area. Performing shows with minimal door charges should be even more of a reason to see these guys live. Check it out!
