Hi-Q's  Popular
Description: The Hi-Q's were formed by Paul 'Smokey Links' Cook, Loney Charles and Rudy Varner late in the summer of 2001 following the demise of the Big Barn Combo. Given their previous success with traditional rockabilly (Country Music Recording of the Year – Detroit Music Awards, VLV Band Competition Winners, etc.), they decided to continue on with even wilder traditional rockabilly and 1950's rock n' roll.

The band did a couple of successful shows in 2001 and then after a few line-up changes re-formed in the spring of 2002. The current line-up of Matt, Smokey, Loney and Rudy solidified in July of 2002. Since then, the Hi-Q's have opened for Wildfire Willie and the Ramblers, Wayne Hancock, Deke Dickerson, played the second Annual Motor City Spinout and other venues/events around the Detroit Area.
