SBU - Strength Beyond U
Description:
Out of the ashes… into the light… Strength Beyond U were meant to bring melodic heaviness to the masses. Formed in 1998 by AMADEUS X (lead guitarist, producer, writer) and SONNY CARAFELLI (lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, writer, art guru), they decided to put a heavy band together with the influences of Dio, Black Sabbath, and King’s X (just to name a few) to bring melodic and conscious lyrics with meaning, together with the pounding brutality of reality. Brought in KENNY GILL (bassist, writer) and TOM HART (drummer, writer) to create quality heavy metal for the masses. The EP, “Soul Divide”, was co-produced with drummer/producer Bill Whyte (Halloween) has gained exceptional applause by peers and fans alike, since it’s release in November 2002. SBU are currently finishing on a full-length CD called “Grounded”.

Robyn Thrasher
Description: Hard rocking, artistic four piece band out of the Lansing area fronted by Robyn Thrasher, a striking blond with a power voice and an attitude fueled by years in the music business. The debut CD, a self titled release, features the single 'Read My Lips' and 'I wanna get high' which are certain to catch the attention of the industry. Robyn Thrasher is definitely going places.

Ray Street Park
Description: --Now simply known as RSP, the band is charging forward into the future with a new attitude led by vocalist Rick Stafford's masterful stage presence and powerful throat. He is the frontman's frontman, and leads an RSP audience into rocking mayhem without fail.
--Guitarist Jeff Howey is a diverse and schooled player with a flair for grinding crunch and an incredible command of his sound. On guitar, Jeff can do it all, and as the heart of the RSP sound, he truly gets a chance to.
--Veteran Detroit scenester Terry Alan Martin is a rare and unique bassist, borrowing at equal times from Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) and Flea (RHCP) to create a truly unique tone. His fit with the band is exceptional and he is right at home in the clay just above the bedrock of planet RSP.
--That bedrock is drummer Darrell "Rockquake" Robertson, a man posessed by the need to punish drum heads and pummel senses with his rhythmic assault. Robertson is an extraordinarily powerful player with an uncanny knack for nuance. He is foundationally strong and, with stunning ease, lays down the deep groove that RSP has become known for.
--Confident, mature and ready to take the next step, RSP is now writing in anticipation of a 2003 release to coincide with an all-out live assault on stages throughout Michigan and the Midwest. Look for the RSP live show to be one of power, conviction, energy and your basic unbridled sonic assault on the senses.
--Adjectives and hip slang aside, vocalist Rick Stafford sums it up best when he says, "Hey man, this is my LIFE."

RashXuberance
Description: RashXuberance was established in Detroit in 2001. The unadorned concept of meshing exclusive tones with down-to-earth pulsations brings forth what the City is renowned for - hard driving beats and smooth, hair-raising melodies - all with decisive presence. To complete the entourage, Martin recruited the high-revving, earthy vocalist and smooth persona which is Art McKinley. The kids then set their sights on world recognized bassist Gretchen Domino, thus folding their forte into RASHXUBERANCE. They were raised on the local music and metal that raced and ruled the streets of the world. The rest is waiting to be written.

Random Turmoil
Description: Once in a while the music scene spawns bastard sons of various genres into a powerhouse of unlimited potential and epic proportions with unforeseen visions and eccentricity. Formed in the spring of 2005 from a longtime vision of two high school classmates and friends, Random Turmoil is a Detroit rock band who makes their own rules. In an age when “metal” has become a swear word, Joe Szabelski (vocals, guitars), Ryan McArthur (guitars), and Ryan Guimond (drums) have taken the lost art of riff writing and made it accessible to the everyday listener as well as keeping fans of heavy music happy…with anger. With a background set in deep unbreakable roots planted back long ago in thrash metal and grunge, Szabelski and McArthur can’t deny their metal heritage and are the foundation of Random Turmoil’s distinct sound. Heavy/chunky guitar rhythms blanket the songs in many tempos reminiscent of thrash titans Megadeth and Metallica of yore. While at the same time, they are not afraid to use clean - bright acoustic guitars and effects layers with changes and ups and downs that break up the monotony that plague heavy bands in today’s scene. Vocally, Szabelski excels and capitalizes on pent up rage and takes listeners through a rollercoaster of emotions to deliver a range as smooth and broad as Chris Cornell, to Dave Mustaine snarls and the in your face style of Phil Anselmo. He has been described as “what Scott Weiland or Eddie Vedder would sound like if they were in a metal band.” McArthur - riff writer extraordinaire stands in front of a stack that belts out crisp rhythms that has been described as Corrosion of Conformity and compared to any of the bands on the much heralded Clash of The Titans tour of the ‘90s. Together with Szabelski's precision rhythm guitar parts and a sharing of the lead guitar duties, this combo is a force to be reckoned with. Ryan Guimond arrived on board in the summer of ’05 and adds a thick wall of quick, yet pulsating drum beats without the stereotypical fills the heavy rock community is accustomed to - yet somehow still maintaining aggression. With a background of jazz and a laundry list of multi-faceted influences from all musical backgrounds, Guimond has a sound all his own and has added his own flavor to all of Random Turmoil’s songs. Lyrically cynical, satirical, witty, at times politically charged, and always emotional, not many local bands can hold a candle to Random Turmoil’s thought provoking words and style.
