Through the Mist Description: Through the Mist formed when brothers Tim and Ryan Wicklund joined up with long time friend Fritz Petersen in August of 2004. Looking to create something that would challenge everyone in the band, Through the Mist strove to make music that is unique, technical, heavy and above all else, melodic. Unable to play live or move forward with only two guitarists and a drummer, Through the Mist began their search for a bass player and a vocalist. Summer of 2005 saw the addition of Brock Flewelling on bass, and Through the Mist was almost complete. With no vocalist and no prospects on the horizon, guitarists Fritz and Ryan decided to step up and fill the void. They spent the months of June and July rigorously rehearsing their material, and played their first show in August of 05’ at the Body Gallery in Ludington Michigan. Since then Through the Mist has played shows in Big Rapids, Muskegon and Grand Rapids, and are looking to show their music to as many people as possible. Through the Mist combines elements of Thrash, Black and Death Metal to make their own blend of epic Melodic Death Metal. ULTRATHRASH Description: We play original thrash/death metal music like it used to be. Fast, heavy and intense with our own flavor. We're not saying that we are the heaviest/fastest band around or are some new style that no one has ever heard before, just go to our website and play the clips to hear what we sound like since using your ears is better than reading a description.
The band is based in Grand Rapids and was started by frontman Adrian who, over several years, slowly assembled the group.
Now in 2005 ULTRATHRASH is fully formed and playing live gigs in West Michigan. A CD is soon to be released so if you like what you hear you'll be able to get your own copy.
This is not Nu-metal, Grunge, Alternative, Metalcore, or any other alternative based offshoot. If are a metalhead or someone who just appreciates well written fast and heavy music complete with solos and changing parts then you will probably be pleased with our efforts. You should enjoyseeing us playlive shows as well.
If you don't think that you prefer this genre of music I'd say give us a try anyway. Other people have enjoyed ULTRATHRASH performances and found the visual aspect of this band to be entertaining and the music to be full of energy. We are here to have a good time just like you are, so get out on the town, catch one of our shows and say hi (like all the other local bands we appreciate your intrest).
Show information, music clips, merchandise, etc. are all available on the website.

Love and Violence Description: Hailing from the depths of nothingness, Northern MI, came 4 guys with nothing but music in their souls. Progressive music, with a metal backbone, with suttle hardcore and classic metal elements. Melodic vocals, with shades of fury; heavy guitar, with harmonizing melodies, and soft progressive interludes, driving low end basslines, and unique druming styles, make LNV what it is today. Picture A Perfect Circle meets Living Sacrifice meets Metallica, with a small earlier Thrice background. Added on: 28-Mar-2006 Hits: 159 Rate this Site | Report Broken Link

Rising Vacancy Description: Rising Vacancy, was formed in the summer of 2005 by Ryan Geil (guitar, composing), and Kevin Simmsic (percussion, vocals). The two met by chance at a party, and shared common interests in music, and decided to start collaborating on musical ideas. Ryan called up Nick Hunter (bass, screaming) who was a former bass player for his old band, and asked him to come out and join the two for some jam sessions. Nick was enthusiastic about the idea, and decided that he wanted to get started up in the band scene again. For the rest of the summer the three began working on their music for the new formed band, Rising Vacancy, in hopes to become established in the Southwest Michigan area.
The Trio realized that they would need more than just three members to get the sound they were looking for so they began their search for a second guitarist. After many auditions, no one could fit the spot, or had the personality that the group was looking for. That was until Matt Budner (lead guitar), responded to a want ad posted on Myspace by, Rising Vacancy. Ryan and Matt talked back and forth through the site for a few weeks and eventually got a jam session arranged to audition Matt. As expected Matt was exactly what, Rising Vacancy, was looking for, bringing in a classical metal, and progressive sound to the bands music.
Now that the bands core structure had been formed they were ready to begin playing shows, and decided to jump right into the mix of things by playing at the, “Gull Lake Grad Bash Fundraiser,” which had been set up by other more established bands at the time. The show couldn’t have been better, as Rising Vacancy’s, post hardcore, yet melodic music was performed to perfection at the show. Great crowd response was recieved, as it was quite noticeable that the music was different, and didn’t follow the verse-chorus-verse structure that most music ballads are written to. After playing a few more shows, Rising Vacancy, realized that they were still missing something and went on search for a lead singer, a frontman.
Once again Myspace proved pivotal finding the fontman, Travis Borsma (lead vocals, keys, synth) who fit the spot well. Travis was charismatic and added another dimension to the band, having good drive, and a willing to try anything attitude.
Shortly after the addition of Travis, the band worked out recording their first EP with Plastic Room Studios, which was based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The successful completion of the EP was sure to bring success to the band, as they continued to play shows, and spread their music throughout all of Michigan, and the United States. The Conspiracy Description: The inception of this unique metal quartet that hails out of the Traverse City area of northern Michigan was crafted by two talented musicians growing tired of the mundane sound and music fashion that plagued the heavy music scene. They recorded and released their four song demo in December 2002 entitled Conspiracy under their own label Mad Messiah Music and distributed over 800 copies locally and world wide to online webzines and record labels. Surprisingly enough the band received many great reviews of their demo effort, writing, engineering and producing it themselves under their own label, studio and budget. Shine the last number on their demo made it all the way to Northern Michigan Rocks sponsored by WKLT broadcasted throughout the region and the neighboring states. In August 2003 the band collaborated upon a slight name alteration to The Conspiracy to identify themselves from other projects trying to copy and use their name and avoid any legal issues. They re-entered Steele Vault Studios in September of 2003 to record their debut, 3000 Crosses released through Mad Messiah Music September 2004. The album concept was derived from the groups personal affects and metaphors of September 11th 2001 and was solely dedicated to the fans and everyone impacted from the devastating events on that tragic day. The Conspiracy has been successfully building their fan base the past four years by writing and performing original, powerful, melodic heavy metal music that keeps building and strengthening their catalog in hopes to be recognized by bigger labels and distributors in the industry.
