Soul Divide
Description: SOUL DIVIDE is a high energy band based in southeast Michigan. The idea for the band was born into the hearts and minds of the brothers Matt and Pete Hamann, (guitar and bass) who had a vision to take their brand of music to a new level, to embrace the essence or soul of all kinds of music, utilizing pieces from every genre, and smash it all together to create Soul Divide. With the addition of sonic poet Austin Dunsen (vocals) and rhythm monster Bryce Harding, (drums) the group was complete, and the music soared higher than the brothers ever predicted. Between the 4 members they created an audacious new sound- It was rock, it was funk, it was hip hop, it was blues. It combines simple good old fashion foot stomping Detroit thrash with the added variety and complexity of all 4 members’ unique artistry and musical ability.
At a Soul Divide show you can expect to dance, you can expect to groove, you can expect to rock out, and you can expect to be blown away. Soul Divide doesn’t believe in putting on a half assed show. The band believes in the music they have created; it is a part of their soul, it is in their blood, and it shows in their live stage performance. The energy in the room during their set is unmistakable, waves of sonic fusion and spiritual glory filling the air for all to see, hear and feel. But words can only say so much. Soul Divide prefers to let their music speak to you. It is time for you to witness for yourself. Witness music the way it was meant to be. Witness SOUL DIVIDE.
The band, which has been together since late 2009, is currently writing and perfecting new songs while playing shows all over the Michigan area. Soul Divide plans to release their debut album in mid 2011, and will be entering the recording studio shortly to begin the arduous process of bringing their ridiculously loud art to a stereo near you.
