I'm really going to miss those days. It's hard to imagine feeling the same way about music I own without some cover art. |

I believe the packaging and artwork are part of the experience of music.
Some might argue that statement, and say that you can burn the digital tunes off on a CDR and print out the artwork on a inkjet printer and have the same thing...
Home computer equipment cannot reproduce the same quality or detail that the artist and musicicans intended for you to see and hear.
On the other hand, the DDD format could spark a new fire in the Indie world, provided ITunes creates a venue for Independant artists to promote their wares on their site alongside mainstream artists.

Each piece should feel as if it is a part of the whole. Taking away these vital pieces of the experiance;the CD, the packaging and art, the liner notes, just serves to further the idea that music is just a product to be consumed and discarded. |
