 TV Producer, Distortion Dave presents
distortiondave writes MichiganBand's own "distortiondave" is pleased to announce his favorite television production, "City Beat" is currently airing during the insomniac hours on Community Media Network (CMN, Public Access TV) for those who need a fix of great local music! During the month of January, a special 2 hour "Best of City Beat" is airing featuring live performances by The Brothers Groove, The Wrenfields, FACE and Blackman & Arnold. Click "Read More" for details.

The show is currently airing at 12am Tuesday mornings (or late Monday, depending on how you look at it) and Tuesdays at 12 noon through January 28th.
City Beat celebrates its one-year anniversary this month and expects to continue production indefinitely. (i.e. when my boss fires me for booking the Demolition Doll Rods or Nashville *****)

City Beat, hosted by James Wailin' who also doubles as a cameraman, features live performances and interviews with up and coming local bands as well as established, well known local talent utilizing a state of the art professional 4 camera production truck which contains a digital switcher, DVC Pro decks, digital cameras, an analog mixing console and way too much to mention here.

The show is shot (and sponsored in part) at Fifth Avenue Billiards during daytime hours for a "controlled" atmosphere with the proficient help of Donnie Davenport supplying us with his "awesome audio" mix.

WROK-TV's "Distortion" David Kupczak would also like to thank Fifth Avenue's General Manager, Agu Nwosu as well as owner, Dan Stover for allowing us to utilize their facility.

City Beat can be seen at 12am & 12pm on Tuesdays through January 28th on channel 52 for Comcast customers and channel 18 on Wide Open West (WOW).

Here is a run down of the towns where you can see it:
Ferndale
Huntington Woods
Pleasant Ridge
Berkley
Royal Oak
Clawson
Troy
Rochester
Rochester Hills
Auburn Hills*
Oakland Township*
*Not available on Wide Open West (WOW)

Be sure to watch for Thornetta Davis Group in February, 2003 and Radiocraft in April - both are killer bands that are not to be missed!
Keep your eye on Michiganbands.com for further City Beat updates and listings.
