| Oh No! I've written a country song! |

 Sooner or later it could happen to you. You're writing a song and it's a little more twangy than you'd like. So what do you do with all of that stuff that you can't use with your latest project? Well, here's one idea, how about submitting the tune to DetroitCountryMusic.Com and see what comes of it?I was doing my regular perusal of the Michigan music sites awhile back when I came across detroitcountrymusic.com. This is a really nice site dedicated to promoting Michigan based indie country artists.
I noticed that some of the groups were taking submissions of material, so I dropped the owner of the site a line to get the skinny.
It turns out that Larry, the owner of DCM is a really cool guy and totally dedicated to the independent country music scene in Detroit. In fact Larry is "connected" with some names in the biz and helps the artists on his site in any way that he can.
One of the ways he helps, is to forward worthwhile material to the groups. Understand that some of the artists on there are national or very close to it. It couldn't hurt to submit a tune and see what comes of it. In addition it might be a good way to find out if you really are "a little bit o' country".
