Song - Dancing For The Queen
"Dancing for the Queen" by Steven K's Parlour dogs takes me back to days when classically influenced rock was dominating the AOR charts in the early seventies. The opening reminds me of a royal arabesque or minuet (but in common time) then takes off in a Kansas-flavored theme, building to an open jam and then resolving just where it left off. Elaborately orchestrated and arranged, "Dancing for the Queen" is a rarity in contemporary pop in both it's length and complexity. I miss the days when listenig to a piece music was an experience in itself.
