Jingle Bell Jam Concert Lineup
Concert Schedule:

7:00 PM: Marty Yaple : Marty Yaple and Adam Priestly, members of the popular local band Ideal Balance,  play original acoustic music with a bit of a twist. Sometimes mixing in electronic influences and electric guitars, as well as piano ballads, they are like nothing you have ever heard! Marty is currently a sophomore at NMC in Traverse City, and Adam is a freshman music major at WSCC.

8:00 PM: Cherri & the Violators  “Think Pat Benetar backed up by Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble, and you get the flavor of Cherri & the Violators. The group was obviously influenced by others but clearly moved on to develop their own style.” (Detroit Free Press) “Cherri and the Violators are one of the few blues bands in the region that takes pains to bend the limits of what tends to be a rather formulaic musical genre. C&V make an effort to push the blues to new places with an emphasis on melody and lyrics that punch through to rock’s more thoughtful side. The Brethren-based band includes Cheryl Bendig on vocals with a fine pop lilt, Paul Bendig on bass and vocals, Herb Cottier on lead guitar and Hank Cupp on percussion. You don’t expect to hear such thought-provoking material from a band who’s turf is local blues bars.” (Northern Express)

9:00 PM: Sufferin Suckatash: "Hailing from the Manistee, the always rockin’ Sufferin’ Suckatash brings a high energy rock n roll show whenever and wherever they perform. Covering a broad spectrum of your favorite rock classics as well as newer chartbusters, Sufferin’ Suckatash brings with them a great rock ‘n’ roll attitude every night. Always focusing on crowd having a great time, SS rocks tunes from AC/DC to Zeppelin. Sufferin’ Suckatash performs songs that will get you out on the dance floor, singing along, or just sitting back and saying, “Dude” I remember that tune!

Sufferin’ Suckatash is: Jason Mucha of Manistee, on lead and rhythm guitar, Todd Virta of Eastlake, on vocals, Joe Krus of Manistee, on bass, and Chuck Perry of Frankfort, on drums."

10:00 PM Shades of Black: Loaded with a set list comprising of songs varying from Elvis and Chuck Berry to Lynnyrd Skynnyrd, Free, Bob Seger, Van Halen, Poison, Tommy Tutone, Nirvana, Seether, Nickelback and BuckCherry, S.O.B. set out to tackle the music scene in the area. With every generation of Rock and Roll represented, S.O.B. went out and rocked Northern Michigan. As Shades Of Black progressed and began to add gigs to the books, crowds began to respond to the high energy show that S.O.B. puts on every night on stage. Combined with that energy and some of the best dancing and sing-along Rock and Roll songs ever made, Shades Of Black had bar owners, managers and crowds wanting for more. Although there are other bands in Michigan that may have somewhat of the same ideology that S.O.B. has, the one thing that sets S.O.B. apart for the rest is the staying power of their music.

The Jingle Bell Jam has been successfully collecting toys and cash for our local youngsters for six years. Last year’s event raised over $1000 in toys and donations.
