Don ''Doop'' Duprie & Ty Stone To Perform At The DMAs

Featured Detroit singer-songwriter Don “Doop” Duprie, a three time nominee in the 2008 Detroit Music Awards and fellow rock nominee Ty Stone will be performing at the Detroit Music Awards on Friday, April 25 at the Fillmore Theatre. They will be taking the stage with an all-star band made up of some of the city’s finest talent. Doop & Ty will be representing the Inside Outlaws singer-songwriter collective that night. Both artists are nominated for awards this year; Doop for Outstanding Country artist, songwriter and recording for his debut album “Blood River” and Ty Stone for “Outstanding Rock/Pop Songwriter.”

Ty & Doop DMA Concert Poster The all-star band includes guitarist-Brett Lucas, pedal steel player- Pete Ballard (The Deadstring Brothers), keyboardist-Bobby Emmett (The Sights), drummer- Jay Rowe and bassist Jay Lollio(The Inside Outlaws) and very special guest “backup” vocalists-Koko Louise (The Hard Lessons) and Carey Gustafson.
 
When the ceremony ends the party will continue at the after party the two will host at The Park Bar just down the street from the theater. Local singer-songwriter and Inside Outlaw- Matt Dmits will join them for a songwriters circle. The Park Bar is located at 2040  Park Ave, around the corner from the Fillmore. 10 pm doors and no cover with an awards ticket stub (see poster by Steve Adams at right - >).
 
Doop and Ty recently returned from LA where they showcased their brand of “Americana-Detroit style” and finished recording Ty’s upcoming major label debut. Doop has been receiving consistent airplay and accolades for the “Blood River” album on a variety of Americana and country radio stations and magazines across the U.S. and Europe. Here is one review:

The 2008 Detroit Music Awards is Friday, April 25 at 7pm at the Fillmore Theater located at 2115 Woodward in Detroit. Tickets are $20.
