Detroit's premiere folk songstress Audra Kubat teams up with the city’s newest rising star the illustrious Silent Violet for a joint show at the legendary Cliff Bell’s Jazz Club on Sunday, May 27 at 9pm.
The two artists discovered each other at a gig, admired each other’s work and decided to do a show together. But they wanted a special venue to set it apart from their ordinary gigs and Cliff Bell’s was the ideal setting for this venture.

Audra Kubat is one of Detroit’s most beloved entertainers, performing her wistful folk music around town for the past ten years. She has four albums out and multiple music award nominations to her credit. She has spent the past year performing her solo material and has also joined up in two other musical endeavors; the all female bluegrass band The Syreens and the country/folk flavored project Friends Of The Diddlers.
Up and coming artist Silent Violet performs her sensual electronic pop music at various venues around the city. Her stellar debut CD “Sounds of a Dirty City” was released earlier this year and is receiving positive reviews in the local and national press.
The two artists plan on each performing a solo set and then joining each other onstage for an interesting collaboration of two subtle yet powerful female voices.
Cliff Bell’s is one of Detroit's oldest jazz clubs that recently re-opened to its’ former glory. It has been hosting jazz performances and also folk/bluegrass performers on Sunday nights at the club. Cliff Bell’s is located at 2030 Park Avenue around the corner from the Fox Theater in downtown Detroit. Phone number is 313-961-2543. Showtime is 9pm, cover is $8 and 21 & over are welcome to attend.
