 Jackie Blue
Anonymous writes First thing first, The "Behind Me" photo rules, what a cool idea and cd name. Jackie Blue has done the impossible with this debut masterpiece. This Detroit "Funk n Roll" party train formed recently in May 2000. WOW! They kept their costs low by virtually doing "EVERYTHING" themselves(Recording, Mixing, Mastering, Publishing, etc...), not to mention in such a short time frame.

This cd plain out rocks "start to finish". Original music at its finest. Bands should take notice and follow this pace. Nothing in this cd is lost, the recording is proffessional, all songs are solid, endless efforts displayed from each member.

Jackie Blue obviously brings many years of experience to the drawing board. Songs like "Detroit Queen" & "G" shine more talents than most of there influences(Lenny Kravitz, Korn, Sly & the Family Stone, Aerosmith, Pretenders). These songs will leave you singing over & over for days.

What a band biography. Guitar player becomes drummer, bass player becomes guitar player, shows in New York City, Detroit, Ohio, full length cd, websites, etc... accomplishments never ending. All this within a year???

Todd Laucombe playes the drums like nobody's business, hard hitting, solid, demanding non stop wreckage. Tom Fiziks bass lines bother the soul, nicely tweaked, extremely smooth, fast paced perfection. Chip Thomas will take you places you've only imagined on guitar. Guitar solo's that screams over-indulgence, mean rhythm's, & structured timing. Its a beautiful thing. Brent McKay's heart felt vocals offer melodic sweetness & endless attitude. Dave Mathews Band your days are numbered, there's a new group in town called Jackie Blue.

The entire cd is fun, a fine choice for partying loudly too, or perhaps vaccuming the house. Buy this cd its a big thumbs up. Retro-Flavored Power Pop/Rock funk at its finest. Siskel & Ebert would be proud. Warning, Track Listings: Detroit Queen, Shame, G, Daylight, Jackie, I.B.Waltz Virginia, Another Day, Channel 5, Free Me, & Forget Slow, may stunt your growth and induce labor.
