Catalog Only Earns Accolades at Emergenza Regional Finals
Thundermoon writes "DETROIT, MI - June 9th, 2005 - In a competition that spanned six months and featured 128 Detroit bands, Catalog Only was chosen as Detroit's runner-up, behind local favorites Natives of the New Dawn. Sandwiched in the final standings between Catalog Only and Natives of the New Dawn were Woke Up in Vegas, Buffalo, NY’s sole representative. As Regional Champion, Natives of the New Dawn will represent Detroit at the National Finals in Boston. Click "read more" below.

In addition to its’ third place finish, Catalog Only’s Brian Giertz was named “Top Drummer of the Detroit Region” by the panel of Emergenza judges. The Detroit Region consisted of more than 300 bands from Buffalo, Detroit and Milwaukee, WI.

“Over the course of this contest, I've seen some really talented drummers and I am absolutely honored to have been chosen for the award,” Giertz said. “But, my drums are only part of Catalog Only. These guys playing in front of me are terrific songwriters and musicians, and they continue to challenge me everyday. I think our strongest trait is we really feed off of each other both musically and emotionally.”

With the Emergenza chapter of C.O now closed, the band plans to continue to build on the excitement and fan base they have been experiencing so far in 2005.

A STATEMENT FROM THE BAND:

We're thrilled with outcome of Emergenza, but what the festival has really shown us is that we have a lot of people who have supported us for a long time. It really fires us up when we take the stage and see all those familiar faces yelling and screaming. We can’t thank our fans enough because without their support and excitement, we’d merely be five lonely musicians. But with them behind us, we feel that nothing can stop us.

Catalog Only will be performing June 16th at Jacoby’s, June 17th at Eastland Venue, July 8th at The Dive and July 23rd at The Roche Bar in Port Huron for Boat Weekend 2005.

Since your peers have so far failed to acknowledge your achievement, let me be the first to congratulate you on your third place finish at The Emergenza Festival. I know you guys are working it hard and we appreciate the updates here at MB. Thanks and good luck - Mitch
