The Saps & The Legendary Shack Shakers @ Mac's
dl writes I would like to introduce you to The Saps, a Chicago-based rock band chosen by The Legendary Shack Shakers to play with them on Tuesday, 5-31-05 at Macs Bar in Lansing MI and again on Wednesday June 1, at The Kraftbrau in Kalamazoo, MI. This is the first of a few nights that the Saps have been summened to rock side by side with The Shack Shakers! The Saps are a Chicago-based four piece specializing in clever hooks, violent tempos and wire-tight rock maneuvers; Midwest through-and-through. As influenced by Otis Redding as they are by Slayer, the Saps have been steadily expanding their touring radius, regularly venturing out from the local scene to take their off-kilter pop act to fans all around. Recently they've shared the bill with The Legendary Shack Shakers, JET, and Robbie Fulks, increasing their exposure even further. Fan favorites include, “Break my Spine,” and “Coup de Gras”, among many.

Wherever they play, The Saps know how to elicit a response. Whether that response will be an enthusiastic fan fastening his pierced privates to the stage, an invitation for backstage shenanigans, or a crazy-eyed methhead attacking lead singer Dan Lastick in mid-song is anybody's guess. Lastick acts as ringleader to this sauced circus, adopting foot-on-monitor rock regality just as gracefully as he improvs gibberish when he forgets the bridge. Simply put, a Saps show is a shit-hot rock-n-roll bludgeoning and a complete clusterfuck – often at the same time.

"We did shots while waiting to hear my favorite song"
The Chicago Reader

All of this new material means that The Saps have been at work in the studio for the last year or so, documenting songs and then abandoning them, refining their sound, and stockpiling the baker's dozen that makes up their latest LP, Ininadoya. The Saps and The The Legendary Shack Shakers have done this together before, and it always makes for an unforgettable evening.

May 31 will be a great night in live entertainment !
