WestMichiganMusic.com presents World Series of Rock 2005
wmichmusic writes "The "Season of Rock" is returning to Michigan. The World Series of Rock and Roll is Michigan's largest local music showcase and is the premiere event of the year for groups of all genres of music. TWSORR is sponsored by WestMichiganMusic.com, a local music resource that celebrates the music and musicians of Michigan.

This year, bands will flex their promotional muscles to attract fans that will vote for their favorite bands online at www.worldseriesofrock.com and live at The Intersection nightclub in Grand Rapids, MI. The World Series of Rock isn't meant to be a fierce competition. It's not just about who's the best or who has the most fans. It's all about the music! This event is open to bands of all genres: rock, blues, jazz, bluegrass, jam bands, hip-hop, and any other type of music from Michigan. The "Pre-Season" runs from April 17 through May 4, 2005. The top 48 bands will move on to the "Regular Season" of play that takes place from May 8 to May 28, 2005. The top 24 bands from that round will move on to the "Playoffs" which will be held with LIVE PLAY, on June 3,10,17 & 24 2005 at The Intersection. The championship will also be held live, in July 2005 at The Intersection, where six bands will be playing for prizes, cash, and music gear. The winning band will be performing at The Midwest Music Summit in Indianapolis, IN, which is being held on July 21,22 & 23 2005.

Registration for the event starts March 16, 2005 and ends April 16, 2005. Registrations can be submitted through Sonicbids, where bands are able to submit all of their music and information electronically, and at www.worldseriesofrock.com.

Submissions will also be accepted by mail and can be sent to WORLD SERIES OF ROCK AND ROLL, P.O. BOX 852, MARSHALL, MI 49068. Registrations will only be accepted with a money order or cashiers check made out to WORLD SERIES OF ROCK AND ROLL. Bands should include a professional recording, band bio and recent band photo if submitting by mail."
