Hot off a series of sold out west coast concerts, opening for soul legend Aretha
Franklin, Teddy Richards now turns his attention to a lucrative label deal with Skip Records. The Hamburg, Germany based record label recently signed Richards with plans to release his CD “Chelsea Sketches” internationally in November 2004. The Detroit based singer/songwriter will celebrate the signing on Tuesday, October 12 with a live performance at Goodnite Gracie (222 S. Sherman Dr., Royal Oak, MI, Ph: 248-544-7490). Besides CD giveaways, the German beer Spatan will also be on special. Doors are at 8 pm, and there is no cover for this show. Ages 18 and over are welcome.Bernd Skibbe, Skip Records’ Co-Chairman and Director of A&R declares, "Skip Records is proud to welcome Teddy Richards as the newest member of the label family. Finding an extraordinary talent like Richards is a very rare event. He is a unique artist with a clear vision of his artistry that will reach many people around the world.” Remarks Richards, “This is the beginning of a great relationship between myself, Europe and beyond. In November, Teddy Richards will head to Germany for a series of festival performances (see schedule below). The pop/rock artist just returned from a jam-packed tour schedule that included several sold out dates with Aretha Franklin in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. The Queen of Soul had not performed on the west coast in over twenty years. Numerous celebrities, including Emmy award winning actor
James Spader, record label magnate Clive Davis, and acclaimed recording artists
Natalie Cole, Chaka Kahn and K.D. Lang were in attendance.
