Well, with everyone losing their jobs in Detroit, I thought I would experiment on a tune about being unemployed  I call this song, "I'm Broke up".  I started out the song using a electronic drum synth, and building it up from there.  When I finished recording all of the tracks,  I sat back and listened to it, to feel the vibe of what it brings to me. I started thinking it sounded like a Kid Rock song, or something in that area. I have never wrote a song like this one before. It is a kind of, Rock Rap song.  it definately has a funky groove to it, with a powerful message on how, and why, we are in the economical mess we are in today.

We did again..... "Raising My Standard" went # 1 in Soundclick.

We just found out that we have been nominated for an award by the
International Country Music Association. The award we are nominated for is the "TRAIL BLAZER" award for our song "LIGHT IN THE WINDOW." DetroitRockReview.com Presents a Dr2 Music Showcase featuring a full line-up of some of Michigan’s Best Rock Bands Saturday April 18th at The Hayloft in Mt Clemens. Detroit Rock Review otherwise known as Dr2 is an on-line local music site that covers not only Detroit area bands and music, but reaches out to bands all across Michigan offering their  “Dr2 Views” on CD’s & Live Shows. This showcase, their first, will feature the music of Lies Unknown who has been called one of the best new rock bands in Detroit, along with another up & coming band from Houghton Lake, HERD. Also on the bill will be the soulful, Detroit party band, The Beggars along with the indie blues rock of The Vamps. The Hayloft is located at 140 N. Main, in Mt Clemens. Doors @ 8pm, 18+.

Sometimes in Life, the new Michigan-made, independent feature from ValloNicka Films, premieres Friday, June 27, at The Scarab Club in Detroit as an official selection for the Detroit Windsor International Film Festival. The film features music from two-time Grammy winner Ozomatli, Modest Mouse, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Presley, Anilore as well as made-in-Michigan artsts Amp Fiddler, Jamie McCarthy, Cetan Clawson, Bedford Drive, Mindizade and The Bloids.

Sometimes in Life is the story of an unusual and unlikely friendship between two people whose lives are stuck in a rut. Jill is a young fashion designer who suspects that her lesbian girlfriend is cheating on her while Rob mourns the loss of his father.

The film stars Sara Stepnicka as Jill, Eric Morrison as Rob, Gunhild Giil as Jill’s lesbian girlfriend and Jon E. Livernois as Eric’s straight roommate. Wayne David-Parker, Angela Roberts, Emily Rose, Ethan Helmann-Scherrer, Carol Pierangelino and Sharon Emigh complete the cast.

The GAC TV search for "The Next Great American Country Star" is on!  A head to head online competition started May 23rd and continues through July 21st on MusicNation.com.  The contest is just wrapping up it's second of eight weeks.  My song, "Own Woman Again", was accepted for the competition and just posted to the contest.
