Serendipitous Gem from Kilkenny
|
Occassionally I'll listen to music samples while I'm adding events to the calendar, waiting to hear something that really gets me off. It's rare that it happens, but when it does I can't wait to share it with everyone. When Kilkenny posted their gig at The Hayloft, I noticed their URL wasn't the one listed with our site. When I visited their old page, I happened upon the gem "Marvin" (download here). Rare alternative smack that makes you want to dye your hair blue, tear holes in your clothes, stick safety-pins through your nose and dig out your old Violent Femmes and Wall Of VooDoo records. The kids call it Garage, I call it Killer stuff. - Click "Read More" for their bio.

DannyD Kicks Godsmack's Butt!
|
Here's an interesting little tidbit for you. A solo artist from
Clarkston has made the top 100 charts for the USA at MP3.com.
DannyD, a pop vocalist from Clarkston Michigan, holds the #57 slot on
the
top 100 chart for the United States on MP3.com as of
the writing of this article. A sizable accomplishment considering that he
bested such notables as Weezer, Linkin Park, Sugar Ray and Madonna.
It has been MP3c's policy of late to offer songs by top national artists such
as Nelly, Sheryl Crow and the aforementioned. What started
as a site dedicated to the unsigned artist has undergone a metamorphosis.
The site is now dominated by RIAA's poster children.
It is becoming increasingly difficult for unsigned artists to compete on
MP3c, and that makes this accomplishment all the more amazing.
Visit
DannyD on MP3.com. Download the tune "Didn't See Me" if
you want to help out the local talent.
