We Lost Another One! Ty Stone Signs with Top Dog Records
Well, It's official. We've lost another local favorite indie act to a major label! According to a recent e-mail, our our very own (ok, maybe that's going a bit far) Ty Stone has been picked up by Kid Rock's Top Dog Records and will celebrate his good fortune at 5th Avenue Downtown on Thursday, December 15th. If you recall, Ty kept us informed here at Michiganbands.com back when he was getting famous the old-fashioned way - gigging his ass off on the road and in Los Angeles. Click "read more" below.

The Purple Gang And The Case of Stolen Time
The following is an article that I wrote of my experience recording a CD with Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) Bill Pilipchuk and Rich Nelson (both of Bitter Sweet Alley) and me on bass (a.k.a. Chris Blaise). It was produced by Rik Emmett (Triumph) and recorded at his Toronto studio in 1987. The included MP3 file is one of 4 songs that were done for a 6 song EP that never was released. - Chris Badynee.

Freak of the Week: Lord Blasto
With Halloween coming up in just a few weeks, I figured this random find was just too twisted to keep to myself. I don't know if Lord Blasto is a magician, a musician, Queen Bee's photog or just another freaky goth model from some dark corner in Detroit, but whatever he is - it works.
There's not much in the way of music here, but the one download that is avaialable is pretty freakin' cool. Click "read more" below to check it out.

Michiganbands.com Welcomes Rusty Wright Blues
Michiganbands.com would like to welcome "Rusty Wright Blues" (RWB) to our list of local band links. Hailing from Flint Michigan, RWB play a mix of original contemporary blues-rock numbers from their forthcoming debut (late-summer '05) and blues covers from artists they admire. RWB opened for Lynard Skynard last year in Clio, reportedly earning praise from both Medlocke and VanZandt, and snared former Godsmack drummer Tommy Stewart for a cameo on their debut.
