| Music Review - Immigrant Blue (self-titled) |
|
True, Immigrant Blue has already received some love here on MB (see Jeff Halicki's review here) but some things just bear repeating. Immigrant Blue's eight-song debut is something special and I'd hate for you to miss out on adding it to your local collection because we didn't plug it more than once. With that in mind, Mitch revisits Immigrant Blue's debut and includes a track by track analysis with samples.

| Super Model-T: Something For Your Misery |
|
In the past three years I’ve brought home a lot of local CD’s. I play them while I do the dishes, while my daughter does her homework and while my wife cleans up after the both of us. Whenever I leave the house, I make sure to bring one along so I can get acquainted with a disc before I do a review. Since I’m terminally disorganized, CD’s end up all over the damn place; in the living room, in my office, in my truck and even in my wife’s car. Eventually (and thanks to her indulgence) they find their way back to my office desk in a heaping pile.
Except for one, that is . . .

| Review of Space Nelson's Evil Computer From The Future |
|
Although the title “Evil Computer From The Future” actually refers to a strange sound Pete Hoperspberger squeezed out of his synthesizer one day (and I say ‘squeezed’ because said computer is depicted by a menacing chrome juicer on the CD cover), could it also be a reference to the "machine" that churns out formulaic fashion-pop for the music industry year after god-awful-year? Thankfully, we have Space Nelson to fight that diabolical device and boldly go where few local bands fear to tread - and where even fewer succeed.

| Super Model-t ~ Something For Your Misery |

Funny thing about this review; as soon as Jeff said he was “looking forward to it,” I had major flashbacks of blue drinks hanging from neon green rope, a Moose, and then it cuts to me calling a policeman “sir.” But, after all the fast-paced wash of blurry memories, broken speedometers, and sardine can-like bars, I did remember that I actually did walk out of there with a CD, the latest offering from the five-piece band,
Supermodel-T. And, like my 100mph Ford Taurus, this disc takes you on a quick ride.

| Flipping the Pig - Self Titled |
|
Reviewed by Wendie
Flipping the Pig's self-titled online only album seems a little unfocused, but there's still plenty to enjoy in the 6 included songs. The first track Cross the Lips sounds a lot like
Pink Floyd and then goes into a 5 minute dirge reminiscent of a lo-fi Godspeed
"You Black Emperor". there aren't many vocals in this one, but the few lyrics there are are great. Weight of My Love, which is the most up-front song about sex on the album, is standard bar band three chord rock. I shouldn't say standard though, because there are a couple unexpected turns (the Sloan-like bass and
handclap break and the vocal break). It borrows a beat from Primal Scream's Rocks and all in all is very catchy.

| Wake Up EP - Garden of Souls |
|
Reviewed by Severina,
I just got my
Garden of Souls CD on Friday. It was perfect timing as I was just sliding into the car for a fairly long and boring drive to North Carolina so I popped it in...cranked it up and let me tell ya, it impressed the pants off of me!

| Sleight Of Mynd - Self Titled EP |
|
Review by Wayne Westcott,
In a time and age where new metal bands come a dime a dozen it’s almost impossible to release anything fresh and new. Yet one Michigan-based band plans to ultimately defy the stereotype of new metal bands, that band is non other then
Sleight Of Mynd. A two-piece started in Mt. Pleasant Michigan that eventually evolved into the present five piece. Sleight Of Mynd is not your typical average find when looking at all the current metal bands of the Michigan scene. Their musical styles vary from hip-hop beats and rhymes to melodic guitars and singing.

| HUSH - Roses and Razorblades |
|
Reviewed by Candy.
If I could wave a magic wand & put Hush in the position Eminem's in, I'd be the one to do it! After my 1st time hearing "Roses & Razorblades" from start to finish, I found myself scratching my head wondering why Hush isn't blowing up the charts & radio! IF I had millions I wouldn't hesitate investing every last penny on such a talented, "in-your-face" & most of all worthy artist & individual. M's set milestones by opening the door to Hip Hop/Rap, FINALLY paying no mind to one's skin color, & for that I thank him; however, I personally am tired of "reading the same old news"! It's time for someone else to walk through the door that's sitting there wide open.
