| Review of Jackie Blue in NYC & NJ |
|
by JJ Koczan (Originally appeared in The Aquarian Weekly) The best in classic rock was always that which was derived directly from the blues. Cream. Led Zeppelin. Black Sabbath. These bands knew where it was at and they went there. So it is with Jackie Blue.
Formed in Detroit by bassist Tom Libertiny and the since-departed Chip Thomas at the turn of the century, Jackie Blue is neither a person nor a band member. Vocalist Carrie Firth, who joined in 2002 after the departure of both Thomas and then-singer Brent McKay, has her own name, and she likes it very much, thanks.

| Fatty Haze Rocks Paisano's |
|
woody writes Once again "Fatty Haze" have proven to be one of West Michigan's favorite rock variety bands. The Ludington natives have been hitting it hard this year playing over 70 shows in 2005 and has already scheduled 30 shows for 2006 with more shows being added weekly. Last Friday night the "Fatty Crew" struck again at Paisano's bar and grill in Three Rivers, Michigan. WOW, What a show!

Mitch writes It only took nine months, but Mitch finally wrote up the last night of three nights at the 2004 Frogapalooza - a Sunday at The Bullfrog in Redford.
Performances include Sonic Disturbance, Sarah Brosch, Laura Wilke, Jiva and Maybe August. He missed Soul Driven and Busy Signal, sadly, but Webmaster Rick can fill you in I'm sure if you ask him nicely.

Mitch writes
So, where was I? Oh yeah, Saturday March 13th, the second night of Frogapalooza @ The Bullfrog in Redford. What, you thought I forgot about it? Nah, I din't forget. it's just that I was abducted by aliens who attacked me repeatedly with an anal probe. Took them months to get rid of me. Anyway, here are some blurbs about Feels Like Falling, Amazon Blonde, Seven Letters, FunEnder, Gary Jibilian, Logan, Cobalt Party Revolution, Jackie Blue, Super Model-T and Radiocraft. Sorry, most of the pics have mysteriously disappeared, but we'll post 'em if we find 'em.

| SBU's CD Release Party for 'Grounded' @ IRock |
|
ccr writes
Tonight I checked out the CD Release party for SBU's "Grounded" and I had a great time. The party was at I-Rock in Detroit with Motown Rage and Abandon setting the mood for SBU. Motown Rage opened the show at 9:30 with their style of 'Rap and Roll' and tore up the stage. They did an awesome job . . . Click "read more" below.

Thumbs writes
FLINT, MI (3-10-04) - Hard Rock patrons of a popular Flint nightspot, The Machine Shop, were enjoying an evening of NuMetal and Hard Core Rock music Wednesday night when the familiar expectations of the room were upset. The venue's semi-regular practice of "open-mic" was subsequently, according to those in attendance, abused and corrupted. . .

| MB Y23 Christmas Party / Toys for Tots @ The Bullfrog |
|
It started out as a fundraiser, morphed into a charity event and just turned out to be a hell of a party put on by Brad Raymond at The Bullfrog in Redford. Five bands, no cover (with toy donation), free food, free CD's and a ga-ga calendar-girl wait-staff made for a great night of local indie rock. Click "Read More" for some of the details.
