teriberi writes Hello Friends: Once again Christmas is upon us and many children will have to go without their well-deserved gifts due to events and circumstances beyond their control. For those of you who participated with us last year, we thank you and hope that you will again join us. But we also ask the rest of you to join us in donating Toys for Tots on this special day/evening, Saturday December 21, 2002 at Buster's Lounge in Utica. Click "Read More" for all the special details.

Random Acts of Music: Hayloft, Mt. Clemens
What better time to target unsuspecting bar patrons for free music than in the midst of the holiday mall rush? That's right, once again we've committed Random Acts of Music on your behalf in an effort to spread the gospel of local music. This time we gave away music from The Wrenfields and The Grins. Now let's see who our latest vicitms are.

Riverside Drive & Kingsnakes Step UP
When we were steeped in anxiety, wondering where our next server fee was going to come from, who was the first one to step up to the plate? I'll tell you who - Xina from RIVERSIDE DRIVE. Though she admits she's a starving artist, she volunteered to throw Michiganbands.com a fundraiser (click on image to the left for poster). Then she convinced one of Michigan's hottest tickets, THE KINGSNAKES to join the party too. What can we say XINA? You Rock! We invite everyone to join us at The New Way Bar on Friday, Dec 6th for a party and MB fundraiser that promises to get out of hand. Make Plans Now! - Mitch

Wooden Nickel to Feature Country Acts
From Larry Garcia of DetroitCountryMusic.com.

As we all know, Country Music in the Detroit area has had it's ups and downs. This week we are proud to announce that a bar that left the Country Music format is coming back and DetroitCountryMusic.com and it's member bands are happy to be a part of it. The Wooden Nickel Saloon in Ypsilanti was once an anchor for Country Music on the West side of the city. As many clubs did however, they turned to other types of music during the 90's in order to keep up with competition. Click "Read More" for an invitation to a special Halloween Bash to celebrate the change.

 Wrenfields release ''Seconds''
Three-time Detroit Music Award Winners, The Wrenfields, have released the follow-up to their 2001 smash debut entitled, "Seconds." The Dearborn based quintet's sophomore release delves deeper into the rocky roots of country, adding instruments such as banjo and mountain dulcimer, compliments of David Wolfenberger from the Harmony Ridge Creek Dippers. As with their critically acclaimed debut, "Seconds" was produced by Ohio native Tyler Brown. Look for a review of this release as soon as Mitch gets caught up on his writing.

Random Acts of Music: Breaktime Billiards in Novi
Since Breaktime Billiards recently added more live music to an area that desperately needs it (Wixom), we thought we'd keep plugging that fact in hopes of bringing them more business. Last night I noticed that Dearborn natives Pat Brennan and Robb Roy have been added to the live roster for November. If you live anywhere near the Novi/Wixom Area, this will be the perfect opportunity to see how musically spoiled Dearbornites have been for years. Click "Read More" to find out who we targeted for a Michiganbands.com Random Act of Music.
