The 2003 server fee has now been paid thanks to the generosity of Riverside Drive & The Kingsnakes and all of those who attended the fund-raiser at The New Way Bar on December 6. In addition to the server fee, a few donations and paid advertisements have helped us amass a small cache of petty cash. This means the website can exist online, as is, for a whole year. It does not, however, mean it will improve suddenly without your participation. . .

swan writes 2002 is almost gone. It's been a excellent year for Fashion Soul Records and Recording Artist: YOU. The YOU have been very busy this year from beginning to end, with recording a new album along with playing the areas Best venues. 2003 should be a very promising year for Detroit's Premiere Funk, Soul hiphop Group.

| Woodward Whores host Open Mic |
|
The Woodward Whores in conjunction with Barstar and Dr. Hifi (or whomever shows up) will be hosting an Open Mic every Tuesday at The New Way Bar in Ferndale. Walk-ins welcome. Uncomfortable pauses and empty spaces will be filled by The Whores. Tricks are up to you. Don't tell the wife, just come down to the The New Way and Get Yer Ya Ya's Off every Tuesday night or until we get busted for soliciting musicians. Here's a map.

Detroit's longest running and only magazine dedicated solely to independent music from the Detroit area, Jam Rag, has finally arrived online. After 18 years as a print-only publication, publisher Tom Ness says he's excited about finally bringing Jam Rag into the 21st Century. "We're about ten years late," Ness said. Better late than never I say. Click "Read More" for a list of the site's features.

| Fundraiser Highlights at The New Way Bar |
|
Our fundraiser at The New Way Bar in Ferndale was a smashing success (well, I got smashed anyway) thanks to the self-less jams of Riverside Drive and The Kingsnakes. Both bands bashed the small, but well-packed room with unadulterated rock straight from the gut. They raised nearly three-hundred dollars for Michiganbands.com, securing our web-presence for 2003. We'd like to thank all the true believers in local music who cared enough to show up and support the cause, even if you were only attracted to a great double-bill. Click "Read More" for the details. Hello Friends: Once again Christmas is upon us and many children will have to go without their well-deserved gifts due to events and circumstances beyond their control. For those of you who participated with us last year, we thank you and hope that you will again join us. But we also ask the rest of you to join us in donating Toys for Tots on this special day/evening, Saturday December 21, 2002 at Buster's Lounge in Utica. Click "Read More" for all the special details.
