Trailer Park Barbie threatened with lawsuit
According to a recent e-mail from Trailer Park Barbie the band is allegedly being threatened with a trademark infringement lawsuit by Perkin's & Dunnegan, a civil litigation firm based in New York that claims to represent toy giant Mattel™ in the matter. According to the letter, the use of the TrailerParkBarbie.com domain name constitutes a violation of the 'Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act of 1999'.  Year end wrap up
The 2003 server fee has now been paid thanks to the generosity of Riverside Drive & The Kingsnakes and all of those who attended the fund-raiser at The New Way Bar on December 6. In addition to the server fee, a few donations and paid advertisements have helped us amass a small cache of petty cash. This means the website can exist online, as is, for a whole year. It does not, however, mean it will improve suddenly without your participation. . .

The YOU have been very busy this year from beginning to end, with recording a new album along with playing the areas Best venues. 2003 should be a very promising year for Detroit's Premiere Funk, Soul hiphop Group.

 Woodward Whores host Open Mic
The Woodward Whores in conjunction with Barstar and Dr. Hifi (or whomever shows up) will be hosting an Open Mic every Tuesday at The New Way Bar in Ferndale. Walk-ins welcome. Uncomfortable pauses and empty spaces will be filled by The Whores. Tricks are up to you. Don't tell the wife, just come down to the The New Way and Get Yer Ya Ya's Off every Tuesday night or until we get busted for soliciting musicians. Here's a map.

Fundraiser Highlights at The New Way Bar
Our fundraiser at The New Way Bar in Ferndale was a smashing success (well, I got smashed anyway) thanks to the self-less jams of Riverside Drive and The Kingsnakes. Both bands bashed the small, but well-packed room with unadulterated rock straight from the gut. They raised nearly three-hundred dollars for Michiganbands.com, securing our web-presence for 2003. We'd like to thank all the true believers in local music who cared enough to show up and support the cause, even if you were only attracted to a great double-bill. Click "Read More" for the details.
