The YOU have been very busy this year from beginning to end, with recording a new album along with playing the areas Best venues. 2003 should be a very promising year for Detroit's Premiere Funk, Soul hiphop Group.

The Woodward Whores in conjunction with Barstar and Dr. Hifi (or whomever shows up) will be hosting an Open Mic every Tuesday at The New Way Bar in Ferndale. Walk-ins welcome. Uncomfortable pauses and empty spaces will be filled by The Whores. Tricks are up to you. Don't tell the wife, just come down to the The New Way and Get Yer Ya Ya's Off every Tuesday night or until we get busted for soliciting musicians. Here's a map.

Detroit's longest running and only magazine dedicated solely to independent music from the Detroit area, Jam Rag, has finally arrived online. After 18 years as a print-only publication, publisher Tom Ness says he's excited about finally bringing Jam Rag into the 21st Century. "We're about ten years late," Ness said. Better late than never I say. Click "Read More" for a list of the site's features.

| Fundraiser Highlights at The New Way Bar |
|
Our fundraiser at The New Way Bar in Ferndale was a smashing success (well, I got smashed anyway) thanks to the self-less jams of Riverside Drive and The Kingsnakes. Both bands bashed the small, but well-packed room with unadulterated rock straight from the gut. They raised nearly three-hundred dollars for Michiganbands.com, securing our web-presence for 2003. We'd like to thank all the true believers in local music who cared enough to show up and support the cause, even if you were only attracted to a great double-bill. Click "Read More" for the details. Hello Friends: Once again Christmas is upon us and many children will have to go without their well-deserved gifts due to events and circumstances beyond their control. For those of you who participated with us last year, we thank you and hope that you will again join us. But we also ask the rest of you to join us in donating Toys for Tots on this special day/evening, Saturday December 21, 2002 at Buster's Lounge in Utica. That's right, once again we've committed Random Acts of Music on your behalf in an effort to spread the gospel of local music. This time we gave away music from The Wrenfields and The Grins. Now let's see who our latest vicitms are.

| Riverside Drive & Kingsnakes Step UP |
|
When we were steeped in anxiety, wondering where our next server fee was going to come from, who was the first one to step up to the plate? I'll tell you who - Xina from RIVERSIDE DRIVE. Though she admits she's a starving artist, she volunteered to throw Michiganbands.com a fundraiser (click on image to the left for poster). Then she convinced one of Michigan's hottest tickets, THE KINGSNAKES to join the party too. What can we say XINA? You Rock! We invite everyone to join us at The New Way Bar on Friday, Dec 6th for a party and MB fundraiser that promises to get out of hand. Make Plans Now! - Mitch
