| Private Messages Error Fixed |
|
We recently moved MB to a new server and a few bugs have surfaced. One of them caused an error when accessing private messages. The problem only affected those that had reset their time zone from the default.
I would like to thank "Max Effort" for bringing this to our attention so the problem could be resolved.
This problem has been fixed. You should reset the timezone in your Private Messages profile to the correct time.
Click Read More for instructions on how to set the time zone for Private Messages.

Since we rarely mix sex with our drugs and rock & roll around here, we'd thought we'd shake things up a bit for Dream Cruise Week 2007 with runway models in every flavor. So this months first installment of MBlurbs will feature stories about Blondes, Brunettes and Redheads, including: a giant blonde who proves she won't "go down" without a fight (Nudge, Nudge, wink, wink, know whatta' mean? Say no more.); a sassy brunette who insists she can teach you a thing or two about "making music" (Right, MAKING MUSIC, very good, say no more.); and finally, a fiesty redhead who spends a lot of time in the bathroom and even more with a "golden statue"(Oooh! Ya wicked Ay! Oooh hooh! Say No MORE) Intrigued you nasty bandhead? Click "read more" below.

Welcome to another edition of MBlurbs. This time we catch up with Radiocraft at the Stars & Stripes fest in Mt. Clemens, just in time for tear-down. Ronnie gives me the 311 on Joey Bowen's return from the left-coast and the General Clusterfunk reunion. Jay informs us that it's a Blind Shame that band doesn't exist anymore, but three-fifths of a broken-ass band make for a Bulletproof Moxie. Click "read more" below. |

Welcome to the second editon of MBlurbs, in which we glean from your e-mails the local music news of the day. In this edition, singer/songwriter Graham Strachan has been busy making sense of his life without Robb Roy. Classical-Rock keyboardist and local celeb-brother Michael Quatro hired an "Animal" to spice-up his riverboat shows and Muskegon's Four Finger Five have found greener pastures up in the northwest.
Remember, If you want your news included in future editions of MBlurbs, put us on your e-mail list.

| Drew 32 To Perform @ Hart Plaza |
|
drew32 writes
15-year old rapper Drew 32 is going to be performing at the Rhythm & Rhymes from the Hart Festival at Hart Plaza in downtown Detroit, on Wednesday, June 27th, 2007 @ 8:00 PM. The Rhythm and Rhymes Fest is the artistic prelude to the Target Fireworks Celebration that will cap the 6-day Detroit International River Days celebration. The Rhythm and Rhymes from the Hart Festival is sponsored by AM 910 Radio Disney - which selected me to perform. Also on stage will be B-Smooth who can be heard on Drew's CD "Awakening" on track 10 ("Twisted"). So check it out by coming to the show at 8:00 or watching it on TV (i'm thinking it's gonna be broadcasted - at least some parts) and just be one of the hundreds of thousands of people there. Lol. Check it out.

For years I've been receiving an e-mails from dozens of Michigan bands but couldn't possibly post every one (you see, the idea was for YOU to post them -oh well). Most of the e-mails are show promos but every once in a while there's a nugget of news I think you might like to read. I'll keep collecting these tidbits and post them monthly or as I see fit. If you'd like to send your newsletters or tid-bits to me, contact editor@michiganbands.com and put "MBlubs" in the subject field. Our first edition covers Stewart Franke, Nadir, Bump, Stephanie Loveless and Terry Lee Bolton. Click "read more" below.

| Bogdon Goes South Of The Border |
|
While many Michigan companies are exporting jobs to Mexico so they can cash-in on the cheap labor and sell the goods back to us for an inflated profit, local entrepreneur Chris Badynee is doing his part to level our insane and unsustainable trade deficit. The local creator of the Bogdon Box Bass is exporting his musical wares south of the border where it's now known as the "Bajo Bass" (hey, I like it!). Perhaps if they can get their very own cardboard box bass in Mexico there will be one less reason to jump the fence! - Mitch Click "read more" below for a graphic, links and another one of Chris' "Bogdon Bass Adventures".
