MALANNA, ''Blood & Spirit'' Coming Soon!
malanna writes " Check out MaLanna's soon to be released CD "Blood & Spirit". A new alternative music. She writes and sings about her real life! MaLanna's influences range from Evanescence, Pat Benatar, Annie Lennox, and Sarah McLachlan. Also, MaLanna is writing a book about her life story and pursuing the art of drums. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee five years ago. Terry Lee Bolton has been recording and producing her new CD. Her favorite quote is, "It usually comes down to who wins the battle that rages between the two of you. The 'you' who wants to take it easy and the 'you' who chooses to beat back what stands in the way of success- complacency!"

The link they submitted to this site states; "The Weight was formed in an effort to keep the original spirit of Rock and Roll alive."  They certainly have the look, the video is cool; now all we have to do it hear them.  Alibi loses one of it's own
TheRedhead writes "RIP: LARRY A. TAYLOR:
Born 8-8-53 Died 2-17-05

I got home today to find out that my favorite dancing bass player Larry "The Mole" Taylor from my main band Alibi had died today. Larry had moved back to Indiana to care for his mom who passed away in December.

Alibi did not do many gigs in the city being as they were based way up north, but earned the respect of those they did meet. So I'm asking you to raise a Diet Coke (one of Larry's regular drinks) or your own favorite and maybe play some Skynyrd or some old Kansas in his honor."

Sad News and a Call For Help
Webmaster:  I would encourage anyone that can, please make a donation to help out the Colton Family.  Donations can easily be made through paypal with the donation button provided on the fund's website.  My deepest sympathy and support go out to them in their time of need.

In a sad bit of news the webmaster and driving force behind www.MichiganMetal.com, Bob Colton's 4 month old daughter Sarah passed away Monday October 25th, 2004. Donations for Baby Sarah's funeral memorial fund can be made at http://www.skylarnicole.com/sarah/. Any donation, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated as the family is already financially strapped for cash and are struggling to pay for the high cost of the funeral and headstone.

There is also a Sarah Colton Memorial concert set to take place in the coming weeks with some of Michigan's heaviest bands joining together in Saginaw Michigan to show their support for Mr. Colton and his family. If you are in a band and are interested in taking part please email webmaster@michiganmetal.com.

 WANDERJAHR CD Release Party
Michaeljahr writes " Lansing Indie/Psychedelic rockers Wanderjahr will officially release their much anticipated new CD, “Is to Disappear”, on Friday, November 19th at The Temple Club in Old Town. They will perform live along with other local favorites Calliope and The Fuzz. The recording features 9 original songs produced and engineered by the band and friend Nathan Brown (synth player for The Fuzz), and was mastered by Glenn Brown. It will be available at the show as well as online and at Flat Black & Circular and CD Warehouse in East Lansing. Check out www.WanderjahrMusic.com to hear clips.

Though it’s not their first recording effort (they’ve been on the scene for 7 years or so) , the album is somewhat of a departure for the band, foregoing the ‘live in the studio’ approach for a more layered, atmospheric sound. “We wanted to shoot for a more detailed, ‘headphones’ kind of record with this one” says singer/guitarist/songwriter Mike Clauwaert, “...something you can explore as well as just listen to.”"
