cherri writes " The first Saturday in December is the Manistee Victorian Christmas celebration. The Jingle Bell Jam has been part of the festivities for the last four years. We (Cherri & The Violators) work with local social organizations, radio stations, the chamber, and other volunteers to put on a big shindig in Manistee. This year there will be five bands, food, a silent auction, and cash bar.
If your band would like to volunteer for a slot, please let me know ASAP! If you can't make it, perhaps you'd like to donate a CD or swag for the silent auction?

The Motor Music Festival was created by a group of race car, music and technology enthusiasts to celebrate their respective passions - cars and music! Come out to Waterford Hills on Saturday, May 27th 2006 to celebrate with us and help support science education in our schools. This year we've teamed up with the Skip Barber Racing School to teach 20 people how to drive racing cars. Music starts at 11:00am. Artists include Straight Up, Big Babies and Jackie Blue. exz5string writes " Acetylene, a local rock/metal band out of Stockbridge, MI is hosting Motts Rock on June 17, 2006. The event will take place during the annual Day In The Village festival in Stockbridge, MI.
We are currently looking for other bands to join the bill. Bands should be able/willing to play a 30-45 minute set. You are welcome to sell your own Cd's, shirts, stickers, whatever at the gig.
Last years show was a hit, promoting several other bands and donating proceeds to Motts Childrens Hospitol. We raised over $400 for them last year, we aim to double that or more this year!

In an effort to return the favor and support, local musicians will perform at three night showcases to benefit WDET's Spring pledge drive. Well it's getting to be that time of year, when we Celebrate the Birth of Christ, and give gifts to those we care about.
Last year, many of you came together, and bought Tennis Shoes and Socks for the kids at Whaley Children's Center.
I must say, it was heart warming when we delivered the NEW SHOES - something so simple, yet so appreciated.
Well this year, I'd like to make that GIFT even more GREATFUL, but with a small TWIST....

The holidays are here and it is time once again for the third annual "Home for the Holidaze" an acoustic rock music benefit for area homeless shelters. The event brings together local musicians and former Detroiters who are home for the holiday season. It is a chance to perform for friends and family and for a good cause. The proceeds from the event will go towards food donations to area homeless shelters. Not to forget our furry friends this winter, we will also accept pet food donations to be distributed to a local animal shelter. Click "read more" for details.
