Tripper to play at DTE Energy Music Theatre

Tripper will open for
Gin Blossoms and Seven Mary Three at The DTE Energy Music Theatre on July 29. It is the band’s first performance at the legendary theatre.
“The first concert I ever saw was at DTE – back when it was called Pine Knob – I was 10 years old. To do a show at the first place you ever saw a concert is quite a thrill,” said Tripper lead vocalist/ guitarist Frank Buscemi.
Tickets are $18.50 Lawn and $32.50 Pavilion and are available at all ticketmaster outlets or at
www.ticketmaster.com. Gates at 6:00 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30 p.m.

We hooked up with a couple of writers that are doing a movie called "Corporate Rock
Stars" and we are going to be doing a couple of songs on the sound track as well as guest staring in the movie, (there will be a couple of
scenes of us playing at The Machine
Shop.) It is going to go down this Saturday,
July 10, 2004 at The Shop in Flint, so if anyone wants to be an extra for a
movie, make sure you're there Saturday and make sure you're rowdy when the music starts.

60 Second Crush Lands Slot on Zippo Hot Tour Opening for Abloom

As
part of the Zippo Hot Tour contest, Detroit rock band 60 Second Crush
will be opening for buzz heavy national act Abloom at St. Andrew’s Hall on
Saturday, June 12. So far, over 800 bands from eight cities entered the music
competition, vying for the title of “Zippo’s Hot Band”. Heavy
crunching 60 Second Crush and local band Autoreverse both landed coveted opening
slots in Detroit as part of the contest process.
From approximately June 15 through August 15, 2004, Zippo will be posting the
entry materials for each qualifying band on their website www.zippohottour.com
for public viewing, streaming, downloading and voting. Visitors to the website
will vote for "hot" bands in each market, based on their
preferences/taste in music and the voting rules posted on the website.

Blues rule breakers
Cherri & the Violators will be rocking the First Street Beach Douglas Park fireworks party on July 4th, 2004, climaxing the Manistee Forest Festival. Music will commence at 8 PM, break for the fireworks show, and resume afterwards, until the beer tent closes and the authorities tell everyone to pack up and go home.
The July 4 show is one of only two summer appearances in Manistee for Cherri & the Violators. “We’re booked all over the state this summer,” says band leader Cheryl Bendig, “It’s a pleasure to play our home town. We played our first gig as a band in Manistee in 2001. The community has always supported us as we’ve grown as musicians and showmen.” Cherri & the Violators will entertain at the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Manistee on July 23.
July 17th the band heads off to St. Joseph for the three-day Venetian Festival. The band appears on the River Stage at 7 PM. Other bands scheduled to appear at the Venetian Festival include
Blue Oyster Cult, Foreigner, Three Dog Night, and Better Than
Ezra. Violator’s summer appearances include the Dunegrass Music Festival in Empire, the East Tawas Blues by the Bay Festival, and RS Underground in West Olive. A complete gig schedule is available at the band’s website,

Ivory Wire has been touring in support of their debut album "The World is Flat" and here is your chance to catch them in the Detroit area. Ivory Wire has been featured on Entertainment channels Wild on Chicago, in Rolling Stone Magazine, and on many compilations and samplers including a sampler distributed through Blender Magazine.
