 Abandon opens for Seven Witches
abandonsinger writes Hey Everyone,

We will be at The I-Rock opening for Seven Witches (Sanctuary Records) on Feb. 5th. Halloween and Mourning Sun will also be appearing...This is going to be an awesome night for METAL!

If you have never heard of Seven Witches, they are an AMAZING group of musicians from Europe. Very Progressive to say the least. If you can make it out, that would be awesome! Take care and hope to see you there.

New Dowloads & NUDE Photos, oops.. NEW Photos
ducksicle writes Made ya look!

Check out www.ducksicle.com for 6 new full length MP3 downloads and new photos from our show with Sista Otis and the Wholly Rollers.

Leave us some feedback, long - short - good - bad, we want it all. In return we will mail you a ducksicle sticker (no, we won't use your mailing address for anything unpleasant or illegal).

If you love it, pop into our Feb. 5th show at The Elbow Room in Ypsilanti, or our Feb. 18th show at Paycheck's in Hamtramck. Both shows are $5, 21+, and start at 9:30ish and you are in LUCK, because there are always an abundance of ducksicle stickers at our shows.

ALSO, tune into WHFR 89.3 for ducksicle tunes which have been recently added to their database.

On a final note, don't eat the yellow snow..

GUITARS & GUNS - An Unholy Union
by Keith Stover

"four dead in Ohio/four dead in Ohio,
four dead in Ohio, how many more?"
-lyrics from "Ohio" by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

Guitars and guns are strangely analogous, strings like triggers, notes like bullets, amplifiers the hot steel barrel of a loud report. But can the sounds issued forth by a guitar actually cause one human being to kill another?

There is little doubt that music is a catalyst for both action and change. A greeting card for all occasions, music can be a source of celebration, a call to arms, a gateway to nostalgia, or a soothing comforter.

The martial strains of Queen's 'We Will Rock You' spike our sporting events; Wagnerian marches herald the serious and studious business of the nightly news; the stately and poignant 'Candle In The Wind' or 'Gone Too Soon' accompany the tears at our funerals; 'We've Only Just Begun' underscores the joy of many wedding days. We use music like a medicine.

It is equally true that guns have shaped the history of nearly every modern civilization on earth. As agents of both expression and change, music and guns bear much in common.

Catalog Only Moves One Step Closer to Germany
kgb writes After performing an energetic set in front of an electrified Alvin's crowd on January 8th, Catalog Only has successfully advanced to the Regional Semi-Finals of the Emergenza Festival. The Magic Stick will be the site of the next round and is one of only 17 venues in the U.S. hosting Regional Semi-Final Rounds. The Semi-Finals will be held April 21st - May 1st, and C.O will raze the stage April 21st at 9:30.

"We would like to thank everyone who attended the show, and their incredible support has helped put us one step closer to our goal," Catalog Only said. "We could really feel the energy of the crowd when we took the stage, and it fired us up. We fed off of their emotion, and it was awesome to be able match their intensity with our set."
