DETROIT, MI - June 9th, 2005 - In a competition that spanned six months and featured 128 Detroit bands, Catalog Only was chosen as Detroit's runner-up, behind local favorites Natives of the New Dawn. Sandwiched in the final standings between Catalog Only and Natives of the New Dawn were Woke Up in Vegas, Buffalo, NY’s sole representative. DETROIT – Undercurrents will present the seventh in a series of free music business networking parties / education forums on Thursday, June 9th, at 8pm. The forum is titled “Music Law” and will be hosted by Sue Summers and Anison Roberts, the Detroit Co-Regional Director for Undercurrents. We need 4 bands, preferrably modern rock, hard rock, or punk for Saturday June 18th 4pm to 9pm in Stockbridge, Mi. We are doing a charity rock show at the Stockbridge Memorial Park during the "Day in The Village" festivities which usually draws a ton of people. The gate money goes to Mott's Children's Hospital. My experience with the band Mumble has been a unique one. I've seen two stellar performances at the monthly tribute nights at the Elbow Room in Ypsilanti and on both occasions their interpretations of Radiohead and David Bowie classics were powerful and played with creativity and precision. So I already knew they were tight performers, but I didn’t have any sense of what their own material might sound like - until now.
