| CyberTrybe is back at it again! |

tabooda writes  CyberTrybe is back together after 5 years of being apart. Back in November of 2001 CyberTrybe played their last show together at the Emerald Theater and then went their separate ways. Sean Mooer (Front man, guitarist) and Sid Hodge (Drummer) were both activated and were sent over seas for Operation Enduring Freedom. Bryant Bedwell (Keyboardist and guitarist) carried the CT name for a while as a solo project and also played with N2 Submission and The Impaler. Paul Biondi (bassist) was also called over seas.  When I first noticed that WTVS was doing a pledge drive in the middle of December I thought they were nuts. The mood in the television studio during the breaks seemed equally skeptical, the phones deadly silent. That is, until Michael Macnamara's documentary about that radio powerhouse CKLW "Radio Revolution: The Rise & Fall Of The Big 8" began to air. Soon the phones were ringing off the hook as television viewers like me were transported back to our childhood to re-experience the station that shaped our musical memories. If you call 313-872-7500 or 1-800-859-9887 and make a $75 pledge to Detroit Public TV during their pledge drive, you can get this very important part of Detroit music history on DVD and learn why there's never been a radio statioin like CKLW before, and unfortunately, probably never will again.

superpenguin79 writes  You might remember Almost Famous as the band that brings out the best in The Detroit Haters, or as a collaboration originally between Ben D., Charlie Naebeck, and David Yu with guitar in hand walking around the world and tons of rotating drummers.
Members have come and gone, but the band has decided to release their last collaboration as "Almost Famous" along with a couple of new tracks that were in the works for their sophmore record. The record was digitally re-mastered and includes the new tracks "Ransom" and "Complete" which were written by Ben D. and Naebeck in 2004. Click "read more" below.

If you are wondering why your band link submission has not be added to our site, then here is the scoop.
I was doing some work on the system a few weeks ago and forgot to match my data update querry string with additional fields that I had added to the new link data table. In laymans terms I f**ked up the submission function.
Anyway, it's fixed now and we do still love you!

about a seminar that will be held today (12-09-05). The seminar is being put
together by Ron Chatman, Music Director at WYCD. One of the panel experts
will be a promotions exec from Mercury Nashville Records. The seminar
will cover the topic "How to get a record deal". Keep in mind that this is an
opportunity for all music genres, not just country artists. A copy of the

"I know this is short notice, but I am hosting a seminar at Wayne County
Community College District's Western Campus [12-09-05] afternoon at 2pm. The
name of the seminar is "How To Get A Record Deal" and will also have a
promotions exec for Mercury Nashville Records on the panel as well as Mercury
Nashville recording artist Julie Roberts. I think it will be of interest
to a number of your folks. Please have as many attend as you can reach...the
seminar is free. The campus is 9555 Haggerty Road ... taking the Haggerty exit
on I-94 and heading north is the easiest way to get there."

| William Wyatt Finishes ''Hollywood & Rose'' |

 Hartland native and country-rocker William Wyatt has finished his latest recordi entitled "Hollywood & Rose", according to a recent e-mail. The new CD includes eleven tracks (six of which previously appeared on his "Peacemaker" EP) and were recorded at Alliance Recording in Fenton, rumored to have been frequented by Grand Funk Railroad. Appearing among the credits this time are none other than Michigan's Official Troubador Neil Woodward on fiddle, mandolin & banjo and former shredder-turned bluesman Rusty Wright on electric guitar. | Jam Rag To Continue After Ness' Departure |

 Though it probably isn't news to most of you, the December '05 issue of Jam Rag will be the last issue to bear the names Tom & Sue Ness as publishers of "Detroit's Music Magazine" and will include a final interview with the man now legally known as "Stephanie Loveless". The couple will be getting out of the publishing business nearly 20K in the hole, mostly in unpaid printing bills according to a recent e-mail. Taking over the reins of the 20-year-old institution will be close friends David Staniszewski and Jenn Goeddeke, whose first issue is tentatively slated for Jan 21.
Note: Editor: This story turned out NOT to be the case, as there was a competing interest for the name JAM RAG. Dave and Jen went on to found a of another name.

Well it's getting to be that time of year, when we Celebrate the Birth of Christ, and give gifts to those we care about.
Last year, many of you came together, and bought Tennis Shoes and Socks for the kids at Whaley Children's Center.
I must say, it was heart warming when we delivered the NEW SHOES - something so simple, yet so appreciated.
