| South Normal Meets The 3-Headed Evil Genius |
|
It doesn’t happen often, but every once in a while I manage to escape my working-class container and venture out among people who are doing something productive with their lives. In this case, I went to Frog Island Park (where there are no frogs and there is no island) to witness South Normal draft Suzie Ferro to lip-sync for a three-headed Evil Genius who's been hired to sell new & used cars to the young and hip in Colorado. Huh? Click “read more” below for an exhaustive account with lots of pics. - Mitch

| Fox Seeks Rappers Willing To Trade Spouses |
|
Webmaster's Note: Occasionally we receive email from various sources with
opportunities for musicians. Most are not worth posting, but this one certainly
looks worthwhile. I've checked out the source and from the best I can tell this
is legit. Rocket Science Labs does do reality show casting for Fox, having been
involved in shows like "Joe Millionaire", and one of my favorites, "My Big Fat
Obnoxious Fiancé". This may be your chance to join the ranks of the famous! If
you fit the bill, email or give them a call. Good luck, and if you get the gig
tell them you saw it on Michigan Bands.
I
am a Casting Director for Fox's family show "Trading Spouses." We are looking
for rising rap/hip hop artists and their families to participate in our reality
show which aims to highlight various cultures and lifestyles of families across
the USA. It is required that each family consist of at least one child between
6-18 years old and have two parents within the home. At the end of our 7-day
shoot, each family gets to spend $50,000. If this is an experience you might be
interested in or know a family that would be great for our show, please contact
me ASAP: telephone 323-802-0441 or e-mail

| ElectrOrganism: Reconnect / Show Review |
|
From the If-you-don't-do-it-yourself-it-don't-get-done-dept.: Our very own Sonic Disturbance (a.k.a. Joe Luellen) took it upon himself to give a play-by-play review of the ElectroOrganism: Reconnect show at Bert's On Broadway. His electronic MySpace collective has 101 members, twenty-one of whom performed over a two-day period providing twenty-four hours of electronic music! But he's not only the president, he's a member who was right there in the midst of the action.

| BIG BABIES & JACKIE BLUE show |
|
jackieblue writes Websites are fun and everything, but have you ever wondered who or what is behind the Michigan Bands website in real life? Is it the huge Walmart Corporation? Jeffrey Skilling and Ken Lay from Enron? The Google guys? In fact half of the dynamic duo who runs this website is Rick Allen -- who's just a Big Baby. Or more accurately, part of the band "The Big Babies."
You may know Rick, Troy, Roni, and Mark from their past lives as one of the top cover bands. But now their friends and family have given them permission slips to write their own music -- and it's damn good. How do we know? Click "read more" below.
