The Blissfest Music Festival will again present a world of traditional and innovative folk music and dance in the peaceful, rural northern Michigan setting from Friday, July 7th through Sunday, July 9th. It is truly a blissful musical weekend to be shared with families, friends and music-lovers of all ages. This year's 26th Annual Celebration will feature Retro and Nouveau Roots music with some of the Best of Bliss thrown in for good measure. The music will include Bluegrass, Blues, Cajun, Celtic, Folk, Jazz, Latin, Ethnic and World music and dance.

am a Casting Director for Fox's family show "Trading Spouses." We are looking
for rising rap/hip hop artists and their families to participate in our reality
show which aims to highlight various cultures and lifestyles of families across

From the If-you-don't-do-it-yourself-it-don't-get-done-dept.: Our very own Sonic Disturbance (a.k.a. Joe Luellen) took it upon himself to give a play-by-play review of the ElectroOrganism: Reconnect show at Bert's On Broadway. His electronic MySpace collective has 101 members, twenty-one of whom performed over a two-day period providing twenty-four hours of electronic music! But he's not only the president, he's a member who was right there in the midst of the action.
Our friends over at BackFortyMusic.com tipped us off to this important screening of the documentary entitled "Before The Music Dies" which will be screened only TONIGHT @ 7:00 pm at Ann Arbor's Michigan Theater. The documentary 'takes a critical and comedic look at the homogenization of popular music with commentary by some of the industry's biggest talent such as Erykah Badu, Branford Marsalis, Dave Matthews, Elvis Costello, Bonnie Raitt, Questlove (from hiphop group the Roots), and many more.' The Google guys? In fact half of the dynamic duo who runs this website is Rick Allen -- who's just a Big Baby. Or more accurately, part of the band "The Big Babies."
