The Michgan legislature has passed a bill designed to prevent imposter musical groups from profiting from famous names of the past, according to MichiganVotes.com. Introduced by Senator Martha G. Scott (D-Highland Park), Senate Bill 1125 amends the Michigan Consumer Protection Act to prohibit imposter groups from performing as established musical groups when there are no original members performing on stage. ace924 writes  STIT was originally formed in 1989. They had a pending deal with CBS that unfortunatly fell through. They played the Bar Scene till 1991 and eventually called it quits. In the spring of 2006, STIT was discovered by RETROSPECT RECORDS out of Las Vegas off a local website thanks to a good friend Dave Hess. RETROSPECT wanted to release a 1990 recording. But instead they decided to reform and record some never performed or recorded songs they had written. With that they have produced, STIT, "BACKWARDS". Click "read more" below.

The holidays are here and it is time for the fourth annual "Home for the Holidaze", an acoustic rock music benefit for area homeless shelters. This benefit will take place at 313 Jac on Saturday, Dec 23rd.
Home For The Holidaze brings together local musicians and former Detroiters who are home for the holiday season. It is a chance to perform for friends and family and for a good cause. The proceeds from the event will go towards food donations to area homeless shelters. Not to forget our furry friends this winter, we will also accept pet food donations to be distributed to a local animal shelter. Click "read more" below for details.

 Where else can you find some of Detroit’s best bands getting together to celebrate a local music icon's birthday?. This year promises an entire weekend of fine musical performances.
The party will start on Friday, Dec. 15 at 10pm at 313.jac/Jacoby’s , the intimate live music venue where Stirling and co-host Sue Static have been presenting local entertainment for the past 9 years.
