| MB Welcomes Stephanie Raymond |
|
Michiganbands.com would like to welcome Stephanie Raymond to our band links section (original artists/country). Stephanie is from Saint Clair, Mi (first knuckle of your Michigan thumb) and started writing music and playing guitar as a freshman in high school. Now, as a freshman in college, she's working on the release of her first solo record with producer Chip Stead and her father, Rod Raymond, a Christian/country artist in his own right. Stephanie hopes to make music her career and, with what sounds like a natural gift, we hope the world makes that possible for her.
Stephanie is currently looking to put a band together, presumably to promote her forthcoming effort, and is welcoming comments about her songs on her MySpace page.

| Michiganbands.com Welcomes Bob Hausler |
|
Michiganbands.com would like to welcome singer, songwriter & guitarist Bob Hausler to our band links section (original artists/singer-songwriters). Bob has worked with many notables in the biz and has opened shows for many more (see his website for an impressive list). As a session guitarist he's appeared on hundreds of recordings and his songs have been pitched to or recorded by national acts such as Alabama, Jon Anderson, Randy Travis and others. And when Bob's not adding projects to his already impressive career, he's spends a lot of time helping others develop their songwriting skills as founder and current president of the Mid-Michigan Songwriters Guild, a group dedicated to advancing the craft in the Mid-Michigan area. Finally, Bob is making time to work on his own solo project, some of which you can hear at his MySpace page.

| MBnews for January 28, 2008 |

The blurb-bucket is overflowing so I finally had to buckle down and get some news out there. Leading this month, unfortunately, is the death of Bulletproof Moxie guitarist Chad Goklani which we are really sad to hear about. Our thoughts go out to his band mates, friends and family in their time of sorrow. Man, I just saw Bulletproof Moxie a few months back at Small's with Radar Pilot. They had a tight, energetic set as I recall (I'm listening to the two-song disc I picked up at the show as I type). You just never know when something like this is going to happen.
Anyway, we've also got news about National Ghost, Cherri & The Violators, the latest adventures of Chris & The Bogdon Box, Luke Sayers, a South Normal reunion, Mumble and Liz Larin. - Mitch

| Music Review: Blood River by Doop & The Inside Outlaws |
|
Back in 2005, Don "Doop" Duprie and Ty Stone founded the first incarnation of The Inside Outlaws, 'a nationwide group of singer/songwriters dedicated to developing new talent through education and networking.' That network led to Stone's relationship with Kid Rock and eventually to led to his being signed to Top Dog /Atlantic Records in 2006.
Now Doop has released the result of his collaborations with Stone and the rest of the Inside Outlaws on their 2007 debut, "Blood River". The disc contains ten songs that vary from down-home country ballads to gritty Detroit rock & roll.

| Crashing Cairo Takes Center Stage for CD Release Party |
|
faith148 writes Members of Crashing Cairo have played with some big names including Kid Rock and The Verve Pipe, but now the band takes center stage to celebrate the release of their new Monday Changed Everything album on Friday, February 8 at The Magic Bag in Ferndale. Crashing Cairo friends Ether Aura, who have just released their Semblence EP, bring their new, stripped-down Americana sound to the party while Island recording artist The Satin Peaches and Us vs. Her round out the bill.
With their rich keyboards, thick, reverbed guitars and melodic vocals, Crashing Cairo has often been compared to bands such as Coldplay. But on Monday Changed Everything, their new sound takes a raw, dirty approach. Imagine Radiohead, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, R.E.M. and Nirvana in a blender.
