Don't forget to check May's "Oscilloscope", vibratory advice specifically for musicians. We know you bandheads can be a superstitious lot so click the image to your left and do what you have to do.
And remember, if you need to talk about it, our Forums are now available. Sure, they're not as easy as DM's and you have to be a registered user, but we think you're up to the challenge.

A promotion company called "Live Unsigned" e-mailed me and wanted to work with Jupiter Avenue on a Live Video and Live CD which they will shop to the majors. We'll be going to L.A. sometime soon to do this. This is a great website to check out for anyone that is serious about their music carrer. LiveUnsigned.com.
Check it out. Mike from Jupiter Avenue.
(editor's note: try as I might, could not access liveunsigned.com through the above link or others around the net. The url is correct - perhaps the server is temporarily down.)
Note: Webmaster - Note that the correct link for the site is http://www.liveunsigned.com.
The site was down as of this update.

Band: Jupiter Avenue
Song: Groovy Things
Jupiter Avenue caught my attention when they submitted a gig on the calendar for a town I'd never even head of before. I've always been curious about the sounds Yoopers make when nobody else is listening. Now we trolls (folks liviing under the Mackinaw bridge) can enjoy a cross-cultural exchange via Michiganbands.com and listen to "Groovy Things" an unusual mix of mechanical hardcore, progressive punk, and psychotic sampling - all wrapped in a first-class blanket of flash.

| Oh No! I've written a country song! |

Sooner or later it could happen to you. You're writing a song and it's a little more twangy than you'd like. So what do you do with all of that stuff that you can't use with your latest project? Well, here's one idea, how about submitting the tune to DetroitCountryMusic.Com and see what comes of it?

No gimmicks. No mad-hatters. No smoke and mirrors. Just pure, unabashed good music. This is 83rd Dream, a trio of musicians whose sole intent is to dig deep down into their collective creative souls and share their inspirations with whoever happens to enter their aura.
The group is comprised of Jason Seaman (lead vocals, lead guitar), Jim Irimescu (drums) and Scott Hanba (bass). And while their music has been described as a "music revival" (and rightly so), I say look closer and listen longer and you’ll discover it’s a whole lot more.

Global Entertainment is hosting a 3 show series that will consist of taping live local bands. The program that they will be putting together with this footage should be airing in July on UPN50. Last night was the first of that series at the Irock Nightclub in Detroit. The next show is Sunday April 28 at the Majic Bag in Ferndale.

DEAR EDITOR,
GLOBAL ENTERTAINMENT IS TAPING THE FIRST OF 3 SHOWS THAT WILL AIR IN JULY ON UPN50 AND THE AUDIENCE IS PART OF THE VIDEO. BOTTOM LINE IS THIS...IF IT GOES WELL, THEY WILL DO MORE. SO THE MORE SUPPORT THERE IS THE MORE OPPORTUNITY THERE IS FOR OTHER BANDS TO DO THIS TOO. PLEASE LET EVERYONE KNOW TO BRING DEMO STUFF FOR THEM - THEY HAVE BEEN GREAT TO WORK WITH. OBLIVION, MOTOWN RAGE & 696 THIS THURSDAY AT THE IROCK 4/25/02. WE NEED THE SUPPORT AND IT MEANS OPENING UP AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THEMSELVES AS WELL. HOPE YOU'LL CONSIDER SUPPORTING THIS THING.
(ed: You heard the man, get down to the IRock tomorrow night and bring your demos!)

Yes Virginia, Country Music is alive and kicking in Metro Detroit, and we DO mean Kicking.
Along with outstanding wins by groups such as the Wrenfields and Orbitsuns, the crowd was treated to boot-stomping musical performances by Janis Leigh and Tracy Leigh Bechard.
