Random Acts of Music - Novi Carnival
Don't look now but you may have been targeted! Not by terrorists, the police or even The Department of Homeland Defense - but by Michiganbands.com. You see, the only perk we get is all the great CD's you submit to us for reviews and promotions. But it's no fun if we can't share it so we created Random Acts of Music - whereby we target members of the unsuspecting public to get some free independent music. Click "Read More" below to meet our first victims.

 Rediscovering Jill Jack
I used to think Jill Jack was just a 'darling of the monied middle-class' who created safe pop music for mass consumption. Her popularity in certain circles piqued my aversion to trends and it was easier to discount her than to find out why she mattered. But knowing my presumptions were loaded, I went to P.B. Putters to find out for myself why "Jill Jack" is such a well-known alliteration in this state. Click "Read More" for a lengthy article.

 T.N.T.Blues At Whites In Saginaw
saxsymbol writes

I recently got an invitation from Saginaw guitar monster Matt Bessey to attend an open mic blues jam at a Saginaw bar I'd never heard of. As an aspiring Blues Hound, I'm hard pressed to skip any opportunity to play with the proverbial big boys. So, with more than a little trepidation, I loaded up my sax and headed to Saginaw from my digs in Lapeer.

Register Users - Take advantage of our Free Classifieds - I did. To your left is a photo I uploaded with our classifieds module. It's a stage monitor that's been used as a shelf for the past few years. There's no reason to hold on to it so I filled out the classified ad, uploaded the photo and "ta-da" - Now you can see it for yourself! Any registered user can use the classifieds section for free. If you add a photo, be sure to reduce the size of the picture as much as possible - If you don't know how to do that send me the pic and I'll do it for you.  Review: ''All The Way From Allen St''
The Memorial Day hangover is gone, the sunburn is peeling and I finally got some writing done - though un-blocking felt like pulling my own teeth. Please excuse the non-sequiturs.
I've been listening to Reagan?'s "All The Way From Allen St." for over a week now and this record is getting under my skin. The music's light, airy and a soothing soundtrack for a summer that's finally in bloom. Click "Read More" for the review.
