 Hot Gear Updated
mflogo_trans 238x60Hey, I've updated the HOT GEAR section (under the Main Menu in the upper left of your screen) which features a few products from the Musician's Friend online catalog. I didn't really like the lame descriptions for the gear so I've re-written them for those with my droll sensibility. So even if you're flat broke and have no plans to purchase gear online, you might still find it an amusing read. Happy window shopping! - Mitch

 Bandheads In Repose II
Stricken with performance anxiety and writer's block, Editor Mitch Phillips decides to rediscover music on his own terms - again. In two short stories, "The Special Bubble" and "Panic and The Performance" he finds more than one excuse to pick up his instruments again.

When you feel obligated (even if the obligation is self-imposed) to report on local music and the CD's start piling up around you all you can think about is escape. This isn't a very healthy attitude...'

Life: After The Movie - Storm Records
Though it's been a long time coming, the "Life: After The Movie" compilation from Storm Records of Royal Oak finally made it's way out of Mitch's CD player and into his computer for a review.

'I really had no idea what a wealth of great punk bands we had in the Detroit area until I heard this disc. I felt like I'd just crawled out from beneath my own sheltered rock (my office) to discover punk for the very first time.'

 HUMOR: Heroin Declared ''Unhealthy''
PostMortimer writes

Here’s some health news you might find surprising: despite a recent resurgence in use among Americans, a recreational drug known as heroin has been found to be harmful, according to researchers at the Noe-Schitt Institute of the Obvious (NSIO).
The opiate, also known as “horse,” “junk” and “Sweet Lady H” enjoyed widespread popularity some three and four decades ago, but fell out of favor for many years, being replaced by cocaine, LSD and other more easily available substances.
