| A little nostalgia please |
|
Recently, I was doing a little internet surfing when I found an excerpt from a book called
"Local DJ: A Rock and Roll History". The book was written by Peter C.
Cavanaugh, an old acquaintance of mine from "back in the day".
Pete was a little more than just a DJ. He also was a concert promoter. One of the best at his craft of any that I've ever had the privilege of knowing. A very smart man that supported Michigan talent, like the MC5
and Stooges while facing the threat of law suits or even jail time for his beliefs.
I've seen a lot of discussion lately about the Detroit "Music Scene", or lack there of. Maybe this will enlighten some as to the goings on at that time (circa late 60's to early 70's) when the Detroit Scene was a major force and history was being made.
Click on Read More for an excerpt from Pete's book.
